Would you trade WR Gallup for a 1st round pick?

Yes. Let's trade Gallup for a first. Then when Noah Brown comes back he can start. Brown is a better fit than Gallup anyway...said no one.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I like the idea though.

We gotta replentish our D-line in 2020...I know...planning ahead is hard for some people.

Give up one of our most promising young offensive future centerpieces for a crapshoot at a decent dlineman? At the bottom of the first? I don't think you thought this through very well.

Success at drafting D-line isn't very easy to come by, especially out of the top half..maybe even higher. THEN you'd have to hope like hell Tavon, Wilson or Smith could and would produce as Gallup does and will. THEN you'd have to hope that your hypothetical "War Daddy" isn't a complete and utter bust.

No. Definitely not. Not a chance.

Lot of the upper teams looking for WR help....

Saints
49ers
Seattle
Green Bay
Colts
Titans
Raiders

Comments?
So who do you really want Herbert, Tua or Fromm?

So what is fair value for Gallup? Inquiring minds want to know.....

First off there are 4 different values on a player.

Value 1: The value the team that has a player and the least they would accept in trade.
Value 2: The value other teams place on a player on other teams and the most they will give up for that player.
Value 3: The value fans give a player that plays for their team and what they think that player will bring.
Value 4: The fans of other teams and what they think is the max their team should have to give up for that player.

Value 3 and 4 are seldom what value 1 and 2 come up with. There have been 1st and 2nd round picks that have been traded for anywhere between 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks. Gallup was a 3rd round pick and hasn't been to the Pro Bowl last season so since Gallup hasn't done much on a continual basis and most players in that situation seldom bring even the round they were picked in, the Cowboys might get an offer if lucky for a 4th round but more likely a 5th round pick. Lastly the Cowboys aren't going to trade a young and still improving WR who is still on a rookie contract and loose one of their starting receivers.

Even though I thought otherwise, we aren't *purposefully" trying to tank. You don't trade away one of your best players unless you are trying to tank and get a lot of good draft picks or players in return. We are in win now mode and Gallup is a part of that. We'd be stupid to give up a high ceiling receiver like him.

Listen, I love Michael Gallup, but if you have the chance to flip a third round into a first rounder at the WR position, in under two season, you take that.

I dont subscribe to the idea that you need elite WRs for an elite offense.

Can you guarentee me a pass rushing terror with that pick or a DT that regularly collapses pockets. Otherwise Gallop is the cheap labor the roster needs.

Nope. When you hit on a 3rd, 4th, 5th round pick, you get rewarded with 4 years of affordable contracts. You don't let someone else reap those benefits.

Also, you are forgetting about the Jerry Tax, aka the extra price we have to pay in trades because teams know Jerry is impatient. We'd get a 2nd if we're lucky.

If it's a team like Miami or the Jets, I trade him for a 1st. That's a guaranteed top 3 pick.

Nope, you'll get next year's clever version of Trysten Hill.

It's okay though, because posters here will tell you how his college coach said nice things about him even though he lost his starting job and how he just needs a year or three to develop.
