He missed his rookie season with an injury.

He was a 16 game starter last season as a 1-tech DT in a 4-3.

He has averaged playing 57 percent of the snaps this season which is normal for as starting 1-tech DT.

I watched all of his snaps for the 1st half of this week game.

If DT Woods is rated as B against the run, I would rate Billings as B+ or A-.

They had run stopper type DTs on the draft board including Jarran Reed & A'Shawn Robinson.

The player they really coveted in the 2nd round going into Day 2 was Emmanual Ogbah, who ended up going to Cleveland before their pick. It's interesting that there were several players rated higher on their draftboard, including those two DT's, that they would have bypassed for Ogbah had he been available.

Yes, what the boards don't show are the tiers. They have tiers within rounds, especially the 1st round.

They have either 3 or 4 tiers in the 1st and I think 2 or 3 in the 2nd. I don't think they use the tier concept after the 2nd.

If players are on the same tier then they generally draft for need out of that tier.

I think he's suggesting the fact that Oakland took Conner Cook, so the Cowboys took Dak. And they got the better player. Yes, I'm Captain Obvious.

Aah.

The Cowboys had Jeff Driskel 1 spot before Dak on the board and he was still available when they picked Dak...

Cook was on the board in the 2nd.

Maliek Collins was on the board in the 3rd.

The Cowboys drafted Collins in the 3rd.

Jeff Driskel was a spot ahead of Dak on the board in the 4th.

Driskel and Dak were both available when the Cowboys picked Dak.

The board does not work the way most fans think it works.

The Cowboys decided during the draft that Cook's mental makeup was a problem.
