Amari I dont think WC will have more than 5 losses , and I dont think nfc east will have a wc team.
it is win the div or no playoffs.
3 other teams with only 2 losses are the WC teams now, 4 others with 3 losses, and then phil already has 4 losses,
and dallas 3 losses, so 7 teams ahead of philly, 3 ahead of dallas.
I would PREDICT !!! LOL that wc teams come from the north and or west div's Carolina is 4-2 so they are a possibility too.

Oh the wild card will definitely feature a 12-4 or 11-5 team at worst. Vikes vs Packers will have the North, the other will likely have the WC spot. Seahawks, Rams, and 49ers will likely have the NFC West, with one of the others having the other WC spot (I'm calling the 49ers and Seahawks to be there, Rams will likely be cut off). Panthers looked terrible yesterday, and they now have the same record as us. Their division is ruled by the Saints, so they likely won't go to the playoffs.

Okay, so there are a few thread's and many posts kicking around the forum trying to predict the rest of this season and some i've seen even trying to pin down our likely play off opponents, should we get there. This needs to stop. We've played 7 of our 16 regular season games. Nobody knows if we win the division, scrape a wild card berth or just bomb out altogether. Equally, nobody knows if other teams do either. My point is, how about we just focus on winning the next game and actually try and enjoy the football? This place was dripping with posters all summer craving the return of meaningful games and now we have them every Sunday, everybody seems stressed and miserable. I don't get the mentality.

Go Cowboys.

What do you mean we can't predict what other teams do? I can predict that the patriots will be in the AFC championship game. But can that really be considered a prediction if it is a foregone conclusion?

I think I can predict the saints will be in playoffs for sure, due to how well they did when brees was out,5-0!

Phil has 4 losses, so their chance at a WC is slim, they would have to go on a win streak to be WC or div winner.

Dallas just needs to stay ahead of phil, or tied with them.
I think Dallas would have to win the rest of their games to be top 2 seed.

Isn't that what fans do?
It's part of the fun.
It is part of the fun! And - it's not our fault! I blame ths---> Losing to the Saints,Packers,Jets(the worst team in the league and losing at home) is why people
have come unhinged and I don't blame them! The JJ/JG show is in full swing.

Yeah it does not look good for the rams, they need a big win streak.
I forgot panthers lost I was using last weeks standings. They probably wont make playoffs.
KC lost again , now 5-3 but they are lucky to be in a weak div, every team in that div lost too.
Buffalo lost now 5-2, but they still lead in WC race!

History tends to repeat itself, my friend. The pattern and prediction is already there for this team.

This team will barely make the playoffs (if they even do, I'm predicting a 9-7 or 8-8 season, with the Eagles taking over the division). They may or may not win the wild card game, and JG will blow his last moment on this team by losing the NFC Divisional Round once again (if we even make It that far).
Judging by your last prediction of us tanking and not winning another game. I wont take your word for it lol

Okay. That's your loss to be disappointed in this team by the end of the season once again. I'm setting realistic expectations for this team and I fail to see what you are seeing more often than not. You see this team doing better than 8-8 or 9-7? How exactly?

Because unlike you I want this team to succeed. You didn’t say 8-8 you fully said you didn’t see them winning another game this year due to the locker room being in disarray. Now I see you’re talking about coaching. I see them doing better then 9-7. How you ask? Everyone on our schedule is beatable minus the patriots. And even them. On any given Sunday. Last year when we were 3-5 I guarantee you were spewing the same nonsense you are now. The way this team played agains the eagles is what this team is capable of on a weekly basis (when healthy). You’re one of those fans that would rather be right than to see the team succeed. It’s actually comical. You went from we aren’t winning another game to having a winning season? That’s a big turnaround.

Predicting the NFL is like trying to predict the behavior of a 13 year old. It’s the hardest sports league to predict because the talent margins are so thin. It’s also for that reason why having a great HC matters so much in the NFL.

It’s hard to predict the rest of this season. But after nearly nine full seasons of Jason Garrett, it’s hard not to predict that this team will underachieve. Certainly hope I’m dead wrong. But NFL history does not show a HC who has been there a decade without many playoff wins suddenly turning into a SB winner. Maybe this year will be different but history is usually pretty accurate.

Obviously I was speaking emotionally after the Jets and Packers losses when I said this team wasn’t going to win anymore games. I apologize for that.

This locker room is likely in disarray and we’ve already discussed this. Neither one of us knows if the locker room is in disarray or not since we aren’t in said Locker room, so I am going to leave it at that.

This team is indeed capable of playing well and I agree that we dominated in the Eagles game. The truth of it is, however, they won’t do that every week because this is the Dallas Cowboys we are talking about. Garrett, Rod, and Richard don’t game plan or scheme for their opponents, making it hard for this talented Dallas team to win. They won’t be able to dominate like this every week simply because this team is not disciplined or prepared enough every week to play. Health should not be a factor unless Dak or Zeke goes out. Look at the Saints. They’ve played great despite not having Kamara OR Brees. The 49ers have lost their tackles. If this team is good, they should play good regardless of their situation, but it appears that this team has trouble even when healthy.

Also, the other day, I downright admitted I was wrong and I said I ate my words when we won against the Eagles. I am open to being wrong. I want to see this team succeed and I will happily allow you to make fun of me every week that I am wrong with this team, however, I know how this team is, and I haven’t seen enough from this team to show them optimism.

The NFL dose not operate on logic anymore , Who would have thought we would have lost to the Jets then blew the Eagles out . Anything can happen on any given Sunday . The more you try to use the logic of good teams always beating bad teams the more frustrated you become because it just dosent happen that way with the regularity that it used to .

Turnovers , Injury and Inconsistent officiating are big contributors to this scenario . That said I just take them one at a time praying we can run the ball , pressure there QB and not have to beat the Refs .

Go Cowboys.

What is it that you dont get about the mentality?

Won 3 games looking like high flying contenders and then lose 3 in a row capped off by a loss to the winless Jets.

Nobody anymore knows whether we are going to win the next game or lose. Who is going to show up? Confidence is absolutely been crushed.

But by all means, enjoy yourself. Im sure losing to the Jets was a breeze for you. LOL

FYI......some other guy asked why Cowboys fans are called "bandwagon fans". I think a comment like yours is the reason why.

Yeah, if the Cowboys are destined to make the playoffs, as it stands now they look to be a 4 seed, which they were in 2014 and 2018. Historically, the 4 seed doesn’t win two playoff games in a row. Hopefully we go on a roll and earn a higher seed but we will need some help.

How bad is that Jets loss going to hurt? It could be the difference between a 4 and a 2 seed.
