I’m usually the “glass is half full” fan. Or if I was Jameis, “full because of air on top of the half full glass”... whatever.

But honestly, after losing the way we did to the Jets, and now the Vikings, this 5-4 feels hollow.

I know why it feels hollow. All our weaknesses continually being exploited with little to no adjustments, especially against the better teams.

Guess I’m still holding out hope for a resurgence like we saw after going 3-5 last season.

Unfortunately the 2 most important words in this was NO ADJUSTMENTS. There will be none with this staff.

Normally I would be psyched and still feel optimistic about the cowboys when they are tied for the lead in their division.

truth be told. I look at their schedule and the eagles schedules. I still think it’s a coin flip between the cowboys and eagles to win the division. The cowboys are more than capable of doing so.

yet, I still too feel depressed about everything that has transpired.

it’s the underachieving that bothers me.

Like I said in another thread, the Cowboys can still stay ahead of the Eagles. Especially if they manage the season sweep. Philly still has tough games against the Patriots and Seahawks. If they lose those and to Dallas again, all the Cowboys have to do is get three wins (or more) against the Lions, Patriots, Bills, Bears, Rams, and Commanders.

if we don't accomplish anything this year this might go down as the biggest waste of talent in franchise history.

Absolutely.

If the cowboys beat the eagles again. And the cowboys win 4 other games. Then they only need the eagles to lose 1 of the two games between patriots or Seahawks. And the cowboys do have a bunch more games against losing teams. The skins, bears, lions.

It’s still a high probability that the week 16 game against the eagles is for the division lead.

Saints and Jet games might just turn out to be the playoff spoiler here.....

It does feel depressing! I think it is because we all know this story already. There are no spoilers. As much as I'd love to see this team go on a run, I'm also soooooooooo over Garrett. I'm willing to have another season go down the drain just to see him walk off into the sunset. That's how tired I am of his coaching.

This team could go 6-1 the rest of the way, or 1-6. I could honestly see either happening. If there’s one thing Garrett coached teams are, it’s inconsistent and unprepared. You never know what you’re going to get. I think we’re better than Philly, but I think they will win the division because of our inconsistency, bad coaching decisions, and a much tougher schedule.

We haven't beaten one legitimate contender. That's why it feels hollow. Outside of the East we have sucked. Most of it self inflicted.

It feels hollow to me because we see the same things over and over and over again. A clearly talented team that only sporadically plays up to its potential. A coaching staff routinely out-coached and over-matched. And a 5-4 record built on the backs of the very worst teams in the league. It feels hollow because it is hollow.
The over and over again is the telling words. For 25 years the story has been the same even when the team legitimately sucked. Get hyped but get let down the story of the Dallas Cowboys the past 25 years. With Red’s regime the sting has been worse having at least three legit teams on the brink of something special only to let them all down with the lack of coaching skills needed to get them over the hump. Why I am for the Star being replaced with a teeter totter until the ship is truly righted. With over 42 years now I’ll always be a fan but hard to be excited when the “over and over” again reigns supreme.
