Jerry Jones “I think it’s an opportunity FOR JASON GARRETT to take a step up in the PUBLIC opinion of it, not only from within (WITH ME) but without (MEANING THE FANS) REGARDING THE STATUS OF HIS EXTENSION.”

See above at my attempt at Jerry whispering!

Jerry Jones is looking at Sunday’s matchup against New England as a measuring stick game for his 6-4 Cowboys. “This isn’t just my town against your town. It’s obviously a big one for us in how we make our way to the playoffs, so everything you play football for is riding there against New England and the challenge is with us,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “I think it’s an opportunity to take a step up in the opinion of it, not only from within but without.”

It is like Wildcatting. Every time a Wildcatter drills an oil well, there is a chance that they hit the jackpot (or glory-hole).

If we win. We will win the division. But that's a big IF...

Even if we lose, won't be a death knell for our chances. Many people at the beginning of the season were pointing to the "tough" schedule, in particular with teams like the Bears, but the Bears 4-6, scoring only about 17 pts a game, they're suddenly not so tough (though as we saw with the Lions the Cowboys have no "easy" games). We already beat Philly, and they've got their issues as well. Still get to play the awful Commanders, who probably at this point are playing for the no. 2 draft pick, and the Giants with a banged up Barkley. Could be 3 wins right there, that'll get us to 9-5 even with a Pats loss. Beat Philly again and it's doubtful they can overcome us for the division, which is of course a guaranteed playoff game.

Still won't evaluate this team until it's all over for the year, whenever that is...

I will be happy with a win (because a win is a win is a win) however I have reached the conclusion that a team with Garrett as HC cannot win 3-4 consecutive games against the top teams. Therefore we have no chance to win a SB while Garrett remains our HC.

What the hell does that last sentence even mean?
Hawkeye, umm think like JJ, get into his mind set and this is easy... it matters NOT where you put your Johnny walker, on your shirt front, pants, or shoes or in the ole gut. He will take it anyway he can get it, either across is lips, or licking it off his shoes... from with in, or without...:lmao2:

I'm wondering if the "without" term has something to do with Garrett or not! Seems possible but a bit obtuse or unclear in nature! :muttley:

I like what the panthers owner said today. he won't tolerate long term mediocrity. i'm sure his hc and gm got the memo.

"I think it’s an opportunity to take a step up in the opinion of it, not only from within but without.”

If it wasn't so wordy that would make a great t-shirt.

Picture the Cowboys logo as the background. Sweet.

Spoken like a true wildcatter.

I remember when I was that kind of fan.
In one sense, I envy that you care so much.
In another sense....well

Hang in there

btw, did you go to App State?
I have a niece that went there. Loved it.
It is what it is, man. Most of the die-hards my age haven't had a taste of Cowboys football glory since we were in diapers. I keep telling myself one day winning again will be worth all the headaches I've endured over the years.

And yes - I went to ASU and am an avid football fan of theirs with season tickets. Was at the win in Columbia against USC two weekends ago and it was incredible.

The doubts are not just on the outside. They're on the inside and I'd bet within his family as well.

How could any player that is exposed to any media not think they've been getting outcoached? That's all we hear and see.

Is it me or has Jerry been very blunt about the playoff success he expects to see this year?

It's all owner speak until he fires Garrett instead of another fall guy. Marinelli needs to follow Garrett out the door too...
