Exactly. Troy was a quitter. Why should anyone take him seriously? I would rather listen to a fighter like Michael Irvin than a quitter like Troy. He sucked his last few years btw when he no longer had that Great Wall of Dallas.

Way to miss the point. Guy who saw what a CHAMPIONSHIP LEVEL TEAM does under Johnson watched Barry and Jerry pee it all away and finally when he'd had enough, he took his THREE SUPER BOWL RINGS and walked away.

Jerry Jones literally COMPELLED HIS CHAMPIONSHIP QB WITH THREE RINGS to retire early because he could not stand the CLOWN SHOW that team had become.

Am I making myself CLEAR here?

Remember Troy Aikman QUIT when he'd had enough of Jerry Jones and saw the team wasn't getting any better.

He literally said in a video it wasn't the concussions, he simply did not want to be around it any more [meaning the Jones circus].

Listen carefully to what he says here:

"decisions that were being made within the organization that were out of my control. And I didn't want to be a part of it anymore."

That's crystal clear and leaves no room for misinterpretation or attempted excuses.

And his recent displeasure and comments don't either. He's clearly not happy with the way Jerry runs things and feels that it continues to be to the detriment of the Dallas Cowboys football team.

And he's 100% right.

in the video i watched, he said no other owners are making statements to the press after a game, etc,
and he said it undermines the HC, because the players start realizing they answer to jerry not the HC.
He said to win you need a strong HC and the players need to know they answer to him not FO.
He also said coaching had been bad, and players were not playing good, but the problems start at the top.

I assume if you’re calling Troy Aikman a quitter it’s because you jumped on the cowboys bandwagon after his playing days.
Truth is when Jerrahs ego got the better of him and he started destroying the team from with, Troy had enough of Jerry and of getting battered around like a piniata.
Man is a winner and I for one am glad that he’s venting his frustrations watching his former team implode.
How else can you call a game when your “star” QB is bouncing throws into the ground or piss poor tackling by a defense that is supposed to be good?
Anyone really think that Emmit, Michael or even Tony didn’t think or feel what Troy expressed.

He simply stated what most of us already know, when you make statements “it’s on us to play better”. Simply put this team doesn’t care and that’s on everyone from the Jerrah all the way down to the coaches and players.

We should be congratulating Troy instead of damning him for expressing his opinion.
I don't think we win that third SB without Troy. He was practically the coach. lol

In fairness, the "decisions around the organization" he disagreed with were very likely the decision that they couldn't depend on him to stay healthy. Aikman was a tough guy and showed it all the way to the HOF, guys like that never go out voluntary, they have to be dragged out.

There was also a ton of rumors that Norv Turner was bringing Troy to the Chargers so he forced his release, then their FO backed out and left him hanging. Troy would never say that publicly.

PS - My post is brought to you by the Number 2.

Troy Aikman has harsh comments for Cowboys after latest loss

Troy Aikman has not shown any bias towards his former team while calling their games for FOX this season. In fact, the opposite has been true; he has been hard on them, and that was especially the case after the team threw up a stinker on Thursday night. After Dallas lost 31-24 to the Chicago Bea

I am as big of a Troy Aikman fan as anyone. He was an exceptional athlete and a great quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
But Troy can't find it his heart to tell the truth- that Jason Garrett is the man responsible for the Cowboys struggling on the field.
Michael Irvin is just as bad, and he needs to stop talking unless he's willing to call Garrett out.
Jerry Jones listens to Michael Irvin too much because if his "grandfatherly" affection for his former star.
Neither Aikman or Irvin were ever the same after Jimmy Johnson left the Cowboys, and their own careers turned mediocre under poor coaching.
They thought Ernie Zampesie was a great offensive coordinator, but Emmitt Smith's glory days ended because of Zampesie's undisciplined offense.
So they don't know what they are talking about here, because Garrett was influenced by Zampesie- and his coaching stinks.

Listen carefully to what he says here:

Troy signed an 8 year deal with the Cowboys in December 1993 and a month later, he won a second SB for the Cowboys. When he signed that commitment, he was asked by the media what he thought of a contract that long. His response was that Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones have “always shown they are willing to do what is necessary for us to be competitive, year in and year out, and to field a winning football team.” So because of that he didn't hesitate to sign it.

Three months later Jimmy Johnson was gone and Barry Switzer took over.

I've always wondered if Troy had known Jimmy Johnson would be gone in 4 months, if he would have signed that deal. Or asked for something shorter. Like 2 or 3 years instead of 8.

Who knows.

The bottom line is Troy did play out his commitment he made to the Cowboys all those years ago. So to call him a "quitter" suggests a remarkable lack of intelligence.

Or just being plain stupid.

Right. When you have no real argument attack something irrelevant...

The man gets paid a million a year to comment on games and shows up in a freaking hoodie.

That is relevant to his head space. Who the $%@% thinks they can wear a hoodie as a commentator?
