Man how true a statement from him on the HBO documentary, and how spot on that is for this team and JG..both he and Saban spoke at length about this fact, and all I could think about is how many times that could be said about the Boys

Wrong....Barry Switzer....SB XXX

Except these guys are both actually Garrett fans, but whatever.

The problem Idgit, is that at some point you have to actually produce results no matter who is a fan of you.

All those nice quotes about Garrett in your sig dont win games...............that is the problem..........that is why Garrett is going to be fired.

We disagree.
Sincerely,
The 1995 Dallas Cowboys

That's a huge exception given that the core of the 1995 team was formed and had good coaching as its foundation. That got taken away and replaced with Barry Switzer but that doesn't mean that those guys all of a sudden forgot everything from the foundational years. Instead a better gauge is what happened to the Cowboys after that core left. I believe we had the Campo years right?

That’s not really the topic here though. I’m just pointing out that the subjects for OPs thread wouldn’t agree with his take on Garrett.

I get that he needs to win this year to keep his gig. That’s the way it should be. He’s got the talent, and it’s a contract season. That’s how the N.F.L. works.

I don't know, I feel like when I see carrot on the side lines all I can think of is how freaking stupid our gm is. I really want to power drive Jerry's face into concrete

If you honestly don't think coaching or managing doesn't directly affect results you are wrong

First, it was Linehan then Moore now Garrett at some point some of you will understand that along with good coaching TALENT on the field is needed in order to produce the results desired.

You sit there and point fingers but deny what you're seeing weekly on the field.
3 and outs are the norm so are Field-goals.Our defense with its many holes.
The GM is totally unqualified for the job.
Getting embarrassed weekly on National TV is now a way of Cowboy life unless we're playing some dog team.
Good coaching plays its role no doubts but Talent has a way of prevailing no matter how bad the coaching is like the 95 Cowboys.
Trust me if Barry Switzer along with Jerry can win an SB well you get the idea.

The above some of you will find out painfully as excuses and scapegoats is all you know drinking that Jerry Kool-aid all these years but the truth and reality have a way of rising to the top of the glass.....I wish our Cowboys GL as I fear they will need as much as they can get!

P.S. GL to our new HC probably another Scape-goat in a long line of many.

Yes, but we had Parcells lead a minimally talented team to 10-6..
yes, there was a couple of years initially where Jones having screwed things up and admitting he needed help stayed out of football matters and let Parcells do his job....that's what a GM should do, by year 3, Jones feeling that he is got it all figured out, started to meddle again....the Bad GM showed up again.

Saban has the best recruits in the country. We saw what kind of HC he was in Miami without the best talent.

And I can’t wait to see what Bill is without the GOAT at QB. Oh wait , we already have.

There are exceptions but that does not necessarily disprove the rule. In more cases than not great talent cannot overcome terrible coaching. In the case of Switzer he took over a team that had it's foundation forged by a great coach in Jimmy Johnson. All Switzer needed to do was stay out of the way.

Great talent makes everyone look brilliant.

It’s always about the talent. Great coaching amasses the talent.
