I was talking with a friend of mine a couple of days ago, laughingly discussing the embarrassing way the Cowboys are being run by the Jones Family Cartel.

My friend went on to to say something many of my friends and family have said for years- Just make the official team name, “The Jerry Jones Cowboys”. Or maybe better, “The Dallas Jerrys”.

Why not? This team has for decades been run less like a professional football team seeking a championship and more like a country club seeking only “family” members to run it. Just plug Jerry’s ugly mug on the side of each side of the helmet.

Maybe we should all stop pretending we have anything resembling a normal NFL franchise that has a realistic chance to compete. If so,I would like the name of my favorite team to be preserved and whatever this crazy dysfunctional circus occupying the Star in Frisco should just be called “The Jerrys”.

Ha, I have been calling them the Jerry's Cowboys for awhile now.

Jerry has a statue of Tom Landry outside of Jerry World...

I share Bobs criticism but having lowered my expectations for well over a decade now we must remember the Cowboys are still this cities franchise. And we can still love the franchise and team while hating what the current owner has done .

Jerry is just the temporary key holder. Hopefully most of us will outlive his tenure and for the next generations to come become a faint memory.

When I still look around all of my memorabilia from a lifetime of Cowboys Football most of which is the pre Jerry era I identify more closely with my fondest memories from that time.

They haven't been the Cowboys for 13 years.
I have suggested the exact same thing.
