I'm glad this didn't turn out to be a real 'Garrett appreciation' thread, because the worthless pile of poo doesn't deserve any.

Someone please tell my why DC.com still lists this dude as the HC?

Jason Garrett was the only NFL coach to accept the mannequin challenge while on the sidelines, it was the only thing it was good at.

Yeah no.... Vrabel ran down the clock and beat the pats. No way JG would ever use such a strategy. He would have punted leaving all the time on the clock and then lost the game. Glad he is gone.

Garrett isn't just a failed head coach like Wade Phillips. I believe he's actually a bad person. There's plenty of evidence that he's a backstabbing brown nose type who throws everyone around him under the bus when things go bad.

Garrett finally convinced Jerry to stop his fascination with shiny toys and focus on building the offensive line and defensive front seven.

For that, I really appreciated the guy.

Before Garrett, we drafted early the likes of Felix Jones, Mike Jenkins, Jason Williams, Martellus Bennett....while too often ignoring the offensive line. Remember before Parcells, when we drafted Dwayne Goodrich, Tony Dixon, Quincy Carter, Roy Williams, Terrance Williams, Antonio Bryant, Derek Ross.......yuck.

When Garrett took over, we got Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, Demarcus Lawrence.....and the year we were in line to get Fletcher Cox, Jerry got excited and jumped up high to take Morris Claiborne.

Garrett did a lot of good by circumnavigating Jerry about as well as he could.

Wha? Garret inherited a great OL in 2007 and proceeded to systematically destroy it with such memorable additions as David Arkin and T-Rex Costa. Because he was so bad at picking OL, we used a first round pick in 2011 on OL for the first time in the Jerry Jones era. Anyone can build a an OL using first round picks. Literally anyone.

But we both know he's not.

I was among the first to say on this forum last season, he had to go unless he could pull off a NFC CG appearance at minimum.

So, it's not really defending him, as-if I feel he needs defended.

Rather, it's shining light on what this really is.

As much as that may offend you.

Actually it is.. He should have been fired after 2008 and you are still sitting here defending him as a basis for you being morally superior to everybody. Is if just coincidental that the man that is being roasted, which you are getting your panties in a bunch about, is Jason Garrett, while folk on the Internet roast pretty much everybody?

Most people emphasize they won't miss the clapping. I too will not. However, I too will not miss that silly grin while holding up high his entire arm with the index finger for the extra point after the Cowboys scored a TD.

And our line was actually built by Bill Callahan, who we lucked into. Frederick was picked by Jerry, because of Romo, per Jerry himself. Romo begged him for a Center and Frederick went to Nebraska, which was Callahan connection. I read that Callahan personally worked him out. Even Stephen and Jason were surprised, because their expectation was Sharif Lloyd. Stephen specifically admitted to this disconnect.

It took one year of Callahan to get into Jerry’s good books that he started giving him play calling duties. And then Garrett also sabotaged Callahan. And his lackeys try and credit him for the OL.

It was Callahan who basically made Jerry understand what we were missing when it came to an OL. Prior to that, he was only really concerned with the LT to protect the QBs blind side and actually Smith was a product of that, after Flozell Adams was done here.

Jason coached under only one scheme and that was a man blocking scheme, based on big linemen. Garrett brought with him Houck, even though I read Wade wanted Solari, who employed zone blocking schemes, unlike Houck. Our personnel drafts during Garrett’s control of the offense were all built around Garrett and Houck’s wishes.

Garrett did a lot of good by circumnavigating Jerry about as well as he could.

Jerry asked Jason specifically if he wanted Felix Jones and he said yes, while Wade wanted Chris Johnson. Jason Garrett couldn’t field a running game to save his life. Jerry leveraged a draft for Roy Williams to help Garrett’s stagnating offense. In 2012, Garrett with his brother was trying to force feed Kevim Ogletree, their pet project into the lineup.

The reason why Dallas traded for Morris Claiborne is because of our DB play and to generate TOs, because Garrett lackeys kept blaming the defense. This forum used to always trash out DB play. And most people on this forum, which was general pro Garrett then, loved it

After that year specifically, Garrett blamed Rob Ryan for his failures on offense, saying the defense didn’t give him enough opportunities. That 2012 offensive performance was the worst and it was a laughing stock in actuality.

And at least Rob Ryan was afforded the excuse of Ratliff playing only 6 games after coming off a 16 game season.

And they then brought in Kiffen and the Garrett lackeys were then telling us how this was a brilliant move and the reason was because of Garrett’s ‘connection’ to Kiffen, when in actuality it was Lacewell. They also switched back to a 4-3.

If anything, the changes that people claim were part of Jason’s influence, were Jerry learning from the experience of the incompetence of the Garrett era. It took Callahan falling into our lap to start to strip Garrett of influence. It took Romo’s 2014 season with Linehan to realize the significance of the run game, but they thought that they could get the same value with the OL with any RB. After 2015, Jerry realized that wasn’t the case, so they got Zeke. Lael Collins basically CHOSE to sign with Dallas after being undrafted for his issues.

If it wad anybody other than Garrett, Jerry round have fired him long ago.
