Not sure why the Moore thing sucks. McCarthy is still calling the plays and Moore can learn from him.

Lets face it. Dak had his best year under Moore calling his plays - He also had the #1 offense in his first year calling plays. 2 1,000 yard WR & 1,000 yard RB - Moore deserves some credit. With a real coach like McCarthy there Moore can improve and get better. Plus I think McCarthy wants some of Moore's ideas.

Dak's best year was 2016.

lol moore wont call plays, the play callers will be MM on offense and Nolan on defense.
Kellen will probably just help design plays and coach players on executing those plays. He would be a OC trainee, which is what he should be.

if he is here to learn and build gameplans that will be fine. Until I hear Mike McCarthy say that then I am against him staying. If McCarthy says this afternoon that he will call plays then that will change my mindset. I have already read that McCarthy thinks the person putting in the gameplan should call plays so I am confused by that and what that means in this case.

I was stunned to find out the Rams didn't try to retain Fassel as their special teams coach.
I had the impression that HC McVey thought the world of Fassel that they'd do whatever they can

He is known and adept for gambling and playing chess mind games vs opponents,
even if its keeping them guessing just to get/keep them confused on positioning and assignments, ..who blocking whom, ...whose assigned to whom, .
...are they really going to go for it on 4th down ? Will the punter really be passing or run for it for a 1st down ?

He seems always looking for poor tendencies, lapses in blocking formations or punt coverage,.. and he has sustain reliability in kicking and return game.
I think we got hold of a reliably sound and very innovative and creative special teams coach in Fassel.
Another new hiring that I am excited to have. Surprised we even had a chance at acquiring him.

The Rams have confirmed John Fassel's hiring as Cowboys special teams coach with a quote from Sean McVay: "Bones" Fassel has been an integral part of our special teams operations since before I joined the Rams in 2017. His knowledge and understanding of critical game situations and his special teams play calling have helped us rank among the best in the league in those areas. Our best wishes are with John and the Fassel family."

I think a lot of what Kitna brought to Dak last offseason will be addressed by McCarthy's QB Camp that he has put on for some time.

If you go back and look at Rodger's early on during his rookie year and preseason he was a completely different QB and his mechanics, release and footwork looked nothing like it did after he began working with McCarthy.

Even Rodgers has credited those camps for helping him become a better QB. If you fast forward to around 0:52 seconds the the video the segment starts regarding McCarthy's yearly QB camp:

I'm hoping that if we decide to continue to stick with Dak going forward that this will help him improve his mechanics, release and footwork wise.

Good point.

McCarthy's as QB coach may be more important than McCarthy as HC. I still expect he'll hire a QB coach though. Whoever it is, they should put him through the QB camp. With Moore.

Keep the other team guessing and look for every edge?

That's crazy talk!

its not when you think about it. When the Rams go pre-snap from their punting formation to their Punter under center as if he's going to pass, and they get out of it or try a hard count.
they could cause confusion or over anxious moments, cause offside, encroachment, 12 man on the field, etc. ..penalties that could force and keep our key drive(s) alive.
i'm sure we could find an example of this kinds of manuevers on YouTube, videos, etc.

Probably one of the most important hires. Last year’s special teams is among the worst I have ever seen.
