So heres the story. I have lived about 2 hours or so away from Green Bay for the last 30 years. I was born in these parts. Life long die hard Cowboys fan since I first started watching when I was a 10 year old kid. Made a new friend last year and we became pretty close. He's from Cali. He knew I was a die hard Cowboys fan but he didnt know that I absolutely despise the Packers. He ended up buying us seats to 2 packer games last year so I kinda had to go.

Ive been to 9 different Cowboys games in Dallas. Some at the old joint in Irving, some at the new. Gotta tell ya,.....the Packers game day experience at and around the stadium blows us right out of the water. I mean, its not even close. I mean,....this thing is a frikiin PARTY. a real snake pit. Im envious as hell. Ive always heard about it, but never saw it 1st hand to compare until last year. I WANT THAT in Dallas. I want a real homefield advantage for a change, a place where opposing teams are miserable. Tear down those silly paintings and the other niceties. Much more mud blood and beer,...and way less artsy fartsy. I want to win, and win big, especially in the playoffs. You cant do that without a true home field advantage. Dont know how to do it.... just get it done! Maybe drop ticket prices? More Joe palooka beer drinkin types and a few less latte sippers? I dunno,... I just know something has to change.
I experienced the same thing at Texas stadium it's like the people were going there just for something to do although they did do a lot of cheering last year parts of the last few home games so it's something to be optimistic about? The first game I ever went to in Texas stadium they were playing the Giants it was their home opener in 96 went to a huge party thought it was a massive pre-game party night before only to find out it was a party to celebrate Hootie and the Blowfish concert the next day which 90% of the people we're going to could care less about the Cowboys

This post is spot on.

I actually pitty the fools that pay good money to go watch a game at an NFL stadium.

I used to do it every year until I finally wised up and realized it is so much more convenient, comfortable, enjoyable, and free to just watch the games in my own home.
who the hell are you to tell me what to spend my money or to decide for me what is enjoyable? I use NFL games to travel to new cities, spend time with family, and have fun with friends. Maybe you go to an opera, which would put me to sleep, but if you enjoy it, you enjoy it. You pitty people that go to games live? I pitty the person that is so arrogant to make such a ridiculous statement.

Not that ive seen and Ive been there many times both at the old and the new. Trust me, there is a difference and its huge. i mean, i get it, if you have never seen something than its hard to compare. Just saying.....its wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy different. Whatever you think the experience in the tailgate area is at ATT figure that x 100.
Has that college-like feel to it from what I understand.

Right there with you. Went to the Green Bay game a few years ago when Roy Williams fumbled away the chance to win. But the environment was amazing. For that reason, I have stopped going to the Museum in Dallas, and every year try to go to an away game. Arrowhead is a close second. I would love to see exactly what you suggested. Hate the atmosphere at the Museum. :)

Dallas has by far been my favorite stadium experience. That includes Lambeau and Arrowhead (both are "meh" to me).

GB from my understanding is nearly all made up of OWBERS of the seats, not licenses but actual part of the team like stock and theres lifetime waiting lists to get them.. they obviously are a lot more prone to making this a part of their weekly habits..so they will be at nearly every game and very passionate about it..

ATT is seat licensed set up but most are bought by corporations and handed out to different employees each week or month or sold when unused etc etc its a different kind of fan base.. we still fill the stadium and can be loud but they arent the frantic crazy fanbase that attends the games for tailgating etc..its too controlled.. the crazy fans exists here for the DC, they are at home or at the bards etc or at friends and family cowboy watching partys vs at the games..

they exits but not in the same manor as you are describing and Jerry and ATT as well as the Arlington Police will not allow the tailgating and craziness to be uncontrolled..its micromanaged around the Stadium..

so not sure a HC can help this lol hes the coach not Jesus..man the expectations with this hire are way out of control

Yep,...even the location is awesome. Surrounded by half residential and half commercial "mostly bars" Sat outside at the stadium view bar in the outdoor beer garden and had a blast....... for about 5 hours before kickoff! LOL Just across the street from the stadium kinda.

Head coaches have zero to do with gameday experience. He didn't have anything to do with it in GB nor will he here in Dallas. The GB fan culture started way before him anyways.

You have to accept that this is what Jerry wants. He wanted an entertainment venue over a true football venue. To the point where we basically had strippers at top. That will never go away. The Cowboys are more of a brand than a football team.

You are comparing an atmosphere at a smaller midwest town with a really old stadium to what we have. Apples to oranges.

That's cool. Would love to know why. Perhaps you can help me think differently. I would love that.

Just don't see anything special with the others. Just a stadium. I hate the bleacher aspect of Lambeau. I don't care about tailgating. And there just seemed to be a lot more energy with everything in Dallas.

The only thing I know about Texas High School football is Friday Night lights, but that seems the same to me. It the towns identity, it is the comraderie of generations competing for the school - the family and so forth. Could be wrong but High School is not the Cowboys and the money it takes to buy season tickets. It is a totally different thing IMO. A totally different crowd. What Green Bay fan would buy tickets on the field level where you can't even see the game. That's not a football fan, that is a party goer!

You missed what I was getting at. While yes if you extrapolate the true meaning in of what I said in the sense of innate local synergy yes you could think of it as just a high school thing. What I'm getting at is that football is MEANT to me intimate in the sense of how it's played and the condition it's played in. It means that it's not a high school thing. It's not just Friday Night Lights. What Dallas Cowboys fan would buy overpriced tickets and a $10.00 hot dog to watch a jumbo-tron (the death star) and be completely distracted by the football being played on artificial grass. Party goers that's who. That is EXACTLY the type of crowd the Dallas Cowboys gets. You can get the real football experience in college or high school or the NFL- even pee wee. Dallas doesn't have it.

McCarthy will have zero to do with ticket prices or decorating the stadium, the shine palace of a stadium isn’t going to go away anytime soon.

If your team needs that to win, then they arent good enough to win.

They didnt have much of an HFA in the 90's either.

I tend to agree. Not sure Ill be blowing any more money going to games. Have wayyyyy more fun in the man cave with friends and family.

kinda ironic that you argue Cowboy fans aren’t passionate enough and then say you’re going to stay home in your cave.

you see that, right?

Lol paintings have nothing to do with winning or losing, neither does beer or mud as you put it. the Raider and Cleveland home field have been some of the craziest for years and it didn't matter.

If we win on a consistant basis then we will have raging fans and a epic game day experience

for the past 13 years we already knew that as good as we look one week is as bad as we will look next week that makes fans not care as much

only the raiders and browns have constant losing seasons but somehow have rowdy fans

I doubt he can change our stadiums atmosphere. He can change the culture of the team, which can produce a SB.
