thats how I feel , on point..

I'm a DC fan and ive stated my case as I also like dak but dont luv him.. he should not get a back braking contract..

I'm all for a FT prove it with a new system move...one more year

in short term get a journeymen and draft a qb maybe 3-4th round.. Jalen Hurts might be there..just have a plan because Dak may holdout..

the only way I sign him is for 30 or under AND to be fair put in true escalator bonuss' ie win division 1mil , win a playoff game 500k each get to NFCCG 1mil bonus' get to SB 1mil bonus..

why teams dont do this im not sure

I realize its team game and making bonuss' in wins and losses is tough thing but when we are talking about investing 150mil in one player in one deal thats that players has too many question marks..

however a QB is like a CEO type in a company and he has to as management bet on himself and im sure he can live on his 30mil base salary especially with all te outside money he can make in endorsements etc.. his bonuss' is like buying stock options vs base salary and the more money you make your team the more money you make..

this is the way QBs have to be treated as there are more history in QBs not coming close to living up to those deals and most are failures.. so now that qbs who used to make 13% of the cap are now close to 20% I believe my ,an is the best way going forward.. the CBA wont like it but its spiraling out of control and a new structure like making them earn it more with results vs guaranteeing it all..

1) Football Fan
2) Cowboys Fan

Good football is what i most love. If the Cowboys won't provide it, I go elsewhere to find it.

I would draft. I just see these guys as bridge guys who can give you similar production to Dak for a lot cheaper.

I’d even be open to bringing in Tom Brady.
That's rich. Brady isn't going to leave NE unless they are not willing to pay him. Who knows, he might even retire.

Then we would have Cooper Rush at QB.
how do you figure, for one Rush is not guaranteed to be the only backup in 2020

two- a Non exclusive FT allows Dak to seek offers we can match or get 2 first rounders in exchange this gives dak and the cowboys some true market value vs inflated guestimates..

so go grab a journeymen to backup Dak if he holds out or leaves and use the new picks to get a QB in the draft either this year or next.

Jhurts might be there late second or third and hes a good project somewhere between a Lamar Jackson type and Dak...

dont act lie we dont have options because Rush is there now, the new staff gets to evaluate and bring in new FA talent and draft picks..

you are thinking too small.. I lie dak but hes not the only plan we could have going forward..

Sure they would scramble to find another QB, but in the meantime the only QB we know about is Rush.

As for the non-exclusive tag, letting him test the waters that way would not be a true test of his market value because a team having to give up 2 first rounders on top of whatever contract is negotiated contract is not the same as negotiating with no strings attached.

I'd bet the percentage of Dak fans is pretty small. Every player will have fan boys, quarterbacks will have them more often and they tend to be more passionate...

i.e, me with Romo.

great they dont match it we pay less for the Nonexclusive tag vs exclusive. Why the heck would we go any other route..it makes sense.. if teams arent willing to trade that for him it says something..Mahomes would get 2 1sts 2 2nds and a 3rd.. easy..i bet RW could get 2 1sts s few other not mane and thats the friggin point wake up Dak and his agents to that fact..

yes we are going to get a better backup amd/or a draft pick or both as a new HC and OC would be blind and stupoid to accept thats knowing the current situation.. if not we are doomed if MM cant convince Jerry to have a plan at the most important position on the field..

If they tag him, they have to go high in the draft, 1st, on a QB or maybe even trade up. Depending on what they do with Cooper, they may need another WR1.

If they do a new contract with him, that means the new HC is on board with staking his comeback on this player. And I wonder if calling the GM's baby pretty was part of the interview process?

They won't let him walk but this decision could be the one that they have to live with for too long. The other side of that is what are the options if they were to just let him walk? They'd still have to use that 1 on a QB and maybe go up for him.

The owner didn't sign this HC for the future, this is a win now situation and I think every player decision will be with that in mind. Short term thinking and swing for the fences and I am OK with that.

Throwing out 18 million really discredits the rest of his comments. 18 million is a ridiculous number.

I think he is saying that because that is what his level of play should get him in a realistic market.

The market for QB's is stupid and guys are getting overpaid and the team suffers for it.

Hell, as wacky as we are, we weren't that low when we first started discussing this, Romo was at 19M.

It's a minimum of 30M and that's the opening. New HC/OC without a record of starting rookie QB's? The signing of this HC played right into Prescott's camp.

True but that is the new game and they all have to play it. Brady, Brees and Rivers are on their way out and they will need new ones as well. Not enough blue chippers to go around and Mahomes may get 45+ and Jackson and Watson in the low 40's. Josh Allen may get 40.

And his “realistic market” is based on what?

sounds more like his fantasy market.
