Creative and we had tons of 3 and outs????????????????

I can’t blame anyone until I see them past JG. I just can’t. Moore was a savant at Boise and showed so much in the first three games and than JG interjected at NO’s.........JG is a cancer.

He did an interview. With or without the interview he was going to get hired again. be realistic. You think that interview had anything to do with his hire?

HC’s with McCarthy’s resume always regularly get head coach offers from teams. A less accomplished head coach Ron Rivera had just been hired immediately by another team after being fired from his.

McCarthy was in NO WAY shape or form, desperate for the cowboys job. He was going to have other job offers.

Yeah let the Browns hire him..

I personally hate it and agree with everything in the video. I cant believe they went this route and Kellen Moore will be used as a buffer between McCarthy and blame if this thing doesn’t work out.

This is why I wanted a big flashy hire and not a guy desperate to get back in the league.

I guess I’ll never understand some of you

the current regime has a lot of competent coaches and fans just want to criticize them before they have even coached a single game

MM is an offensive guy came to fix the defense and special team? MM will implement his own WCO ok KM is the OC and will call plays Ok...something does not add up here

He was hired as the HC to fix the "team" and get the team over the hump. He was not hire to just fix the offense. Just because his background is offense doesn't mean he is only in charge of fixing the offense as the HC. Offense was the least of our problems last year. It's obvious he's correctly identified what our main issues were last year and that's what he wants to focus on getting it fixed in his first year.

It was same with Parcells. Parcells' background was defense but he wasn't just hired to fix the defense but to make the whole team better. Parcells realized the offense needed more attention than the defense in his first year and decided to focus more on that side of the ball.
That's why he kept the defense the same as previous seasons and had Zimmer run it

McCarthy sees something in Moore. Something he did not see in anyone else on Garrett's staff. What I am most excited about with McCarthy is his plan to make the scheme work to players the advantage rather than plug and play into a system. I also like that he is not changing everything so the players do not have to learn a completely new offense.

Remember, Moore was looking for and had another job. That's not the sign of a guy who was secure in his position.

Just don’t think this is a huge issue... If KM was hired somewhere else— the media would be touting him as a wunderkind offensive mind that led the #1 offense in the NFL in his first year as OC

MM has had nothing but praise for him— even before he was hired. Why isn’t it possible that he likes and trusts him even more after spending some time talking to the guy?

If KM struggles— MM can take over playcalling. This “crisis” that has “set us up to fail” by the media is literally them throwing crap against the wall and hoping it sticks.

Nobody knows how things are going to change until we get further into the new era. Expect lots of narratives like this bc the media wants clicks and knows Dallas is click-bait

What did you actual expect. He hired a SB winning HC and let him pick his own staff. He is trying to take advantage of what we already have and build on it. I hope he brings in a more aggressive Defense and less predictable Offense. That and having a actual HC that knows what he is doing will gather us another 4 wins a year. And if we make the playoffs I feel more comfortable about not getting out coached.

the hand wringing over this is so perplexing.

MCCarthy cleaned house and booted every coach but two. He even got rid of the head trainer. And yet him choosing to keep Kellen Moore is a signal that he is was desperate or a job and is being pulled by puppet strings or that he doesn’t know what he is doing.

it makes zero sense.

Way too much drama with this franchise in general... media feeds it, fans feed it, and the Jones family feeds it.

I can’t wait until next season starts and we can look at the product on the field for ourselves and all the speculation, “what ifs?”, and second guessing is diminished.

I am excited to be in a new era— but I am drained from all the noise and clamor. But my love and loyalty as a fan keeps me hanging around lol....

I liked what I saw from Moore in weeks 1-3. There were a lot of motions, and receivers were giving Dak high fives as they motioned through, and then suddenly, all of that stopped.

I think Garrett got confused with the play designs and dumbed it down for himself.

One Moore year is fine with me.
Well Kellen wont be designing the offense by himself, that will be him and McCarthy. As for calling plays, MM might tell him to run more or pass more
or do either one in certain situations.
JG had no or little control over his OC , but MM can control the OC, and tell him to change this or that if he doesnt like how it is working.

I can understand people having concern about Jerry and his desire to meddle. I mean I get it. It’s not like Jerry has that reputation through no fault of his own.

I just happen to feel like McCarthy was a good hire and is one of the few head coach hires he could have made, to keep the meddling to a minimum. McCarthy has zero reason to take a head coaching job, without being empowered as much as McCarthy wanted to be. McCarthy was going to get another HC opportunity. No doubt about that.

McCarthy’s hire reminds me of the Parcells hire in a lot of ways. I don’t think McCarthy is as good as Parcells. I hope he proves that he is.

So, at this point KM is still running Scott Linehans offense and will continue to call plays and the MM terminology will not be used and the offensive guru will sprinkle in a little WC to it and dumb it down some this is beginning to have Jerry's stink all over it. I know give it a chance but I see the blind are just eating up more of Jerry snake oil, Boy genius meets Mr offense who has always called his own plays but it appears not much will change just a new name at HC, welcome to Jerry's world . Can't wait to see the new MM "fixed" defense that gives up less than 9 points to better teams so 8-8 still isn't the bench mark.

Imagine my disappointment when I opened this thread and realized it was just click bait BS.

If you try hard enough, you should be able to imagine it.

I think the first year will be a learning year but it will be a interesting to watch how it plays out. If the NYG blow out the Cowboys next year the reactions of Jerry will be priceless. So for all intents it will be the same OC and O with some wrinkles, the same QB and offensive players but a new revamped D with many new faces and and a new DC that isn't known for top D's. Keeping KM was part of the buy in of MM with Jerry (just my opinion) and I still believe Jerry pulls the strings.
