Not only me. A lot of people understand iverdrafting and overpaying a RB with a lot of carries to the biggest contract ever for a RB was a mistake.
Again, Zeke is on his way to the hall of fame pace. Your disrespect is humorous. Enjoy his 1500 yards next season. Maybe if you were supporting an Andy reid type your view would have more merit

Derrick Henry says that Zeke’s contract is his floor for a new contract. Ha, good luck Titans!

and Henry will get a contract that will top zeke's ( or be franchise tagged) .. he is the source of that team. Titans go as Henry goes.
He'll be either re-signed as the highest or one of the highest paid RBs, be franchised tagged or given a transitional tender.

other option ? let Henry walk per unrestricted FA.. and draft another RB within first two rounds.

Different styles of offense require different heroes.

this is the truest statement in this thread. A Zeke can win you a super bowl like the Seahawks in 2013 and almost 2014/2005, Almost Vikings 2009, and the Steelers in 2008, or a Zeke contract can hold you back like the Rams, like the Eagles with Murray.

but the opposite is also true, low payment RBs can lead to big contracts elsewhere like the Eagles in 2017, or choosing not to the pay RB can hurt you badly like the Steelers the last 2 years. Easy to forget they were a 13-3 team in 2017 when Bell was content, and now last year they’re a disaster running for 3.7 RPC

Most don't, last one was Seattle where they gave roughly the same percentage to their RB compared to this year for the Cowboys.

2013 Lynch had a cap hit of 7mil when the cap was at 123 mil for a 5.6% cap hit.
2020 Zeke will have a cap hit of 10.9mil with a cap of 200 mil* for a 5.4% cap hit.

They tried the 2 TE set before the Pats with Witten and Bennett starting in 2008.

NE drafted both Gronk and Aaron in 2010.
Oh snap!

I explicitly pointed out they were not SB runs. All of those backs were all pro and all won playoff games in the past 3 years.
And I explicitly said playoff runs, which you also said and included Zeke. I don’t consider winning one playoff game a “run”.

They gambled when they drafted him and when they gave him an extension.

The Zeke disrespect is sooooo lame. Nobody questions zach martins contract or will address him not being what he was to start his career. Funny

Zack Martin is every bit the player he's always been. His play has slipped the past two years because of knee, ankle, and elbow issues. And even an 80 percent Martin has been an All-Pro.

And I'm not hating on Zeke, either. The contract he signed was enormous, but the vast majority of his money will come to him very early. If he starts to break down the cap hit by cutting him in, say, 2023 won't be as bad as it seems.

Then you just plug in the next guy.

It's the easiest position in the NFL to play.
Right. You're "more volume" theory has already been proven wrong. Pollard, with a fraction of the carries has already been injured.

Lol... I’m sorry but you proved nothing I said wrong.

Go look at league leaders in rushing and look at their attempts.. There is a direct correlation and you’ll get some random names popping up high on the list in yards and it’s because they got a lot of carries..

It doesn’t mean every RB can carry the same load but most teams spell their RBs anyways.. Having 1 guy do the job isn’t some kind of advantage.

If Pollard has the same amount of attempts as Zeke he will produce similar to Zeke. That doesn’t mean he will match him yard for yard either but he will be in the same ball park..

We like to brag about Zeke leading the league in rushing but he usually leads in attempts as well.

Pre fat extension he was already an inefficient player, who lacked motivation, didn't work hard in the offseason and was coddled in season.

Does anyone expect our deal for Zeke to turn out any better?

I like franchises that know when to move on from a player. With Jerry, there is a period of high 5s, then a decline, then a holdout, further decline and, finally, after 8 years, giving up on a cant-miss player.

I love how the topic creator is trying to be a smart *** when in reality yeah we are glad we signed zeke. A 24 year old perennial top 5 player.

I love how TC is complaining that players like Bell, Gurley, and Johnson are always injured or terrible.

It's like uhhh isn't it a good thing that zeke is NEITHER of those things ?:huh::huh:

Ah... I remember when peeps thought Hambrick just needed more volume.
Those were the halcyon days.

If Zeke were used correctly, I'd have no problem with Zeke's contract. I understand that was the previous coaching staff's failure. Now that we have a new coaching staff, they have a chance to justify Zeke's contract by using him correctly, using him at the right time.

This is the problem with Cowboy fans.. We always think back to that one time where something didn’t work with us and correlate it to today..

The front office is guilty of this too.

They try to build their team like it’s the early 90s and run schemes like the early 90s and think they’re gonna build a team like the 90s and no one will stop us even if they know what’s coming.

Meanwhile we’re stuck in mediocrity and not having any playoff success because of that 1 time we didn’t draft a RB in the first round.

What about Demarco Murray? The list of good RBs that aren’t high draft picks are a mile long and they come around often.

Jerry thought he was finally going to be the toast of the town in Miami for two weeks so he caved.

The killer for me was extending Smith in the middle of the holdout just to irritate him.
