they are a glimpse of a true artist and craftsman at work.
a perfectionist who could seamlessly transition in and out of genres with ease and precision.

we now move to the wilderness period...the movie soundtracks of the 60s.

    cowboyec
    his drive for perfection...relentless.
    he cared.
    deeply.
    cowboyec

it was thru these films and these soundtracks that many found Elvis for the first time.
they opened The King's Court to new converts.
    cowboyec

but the main point of this wilderness journey...from 1960-1969....theres some good...sometimes great...stuff in there....that deserves to be heard.
not thrown out with the bad'ns.

    used briefly in the film.
    a HUGE missed opportunity.
your HEAR him singing it in the night club...but we don't SEE the performance.
it would've been a rival to loving you's teddy bear scene or the dance sequence from JHR.

a true classic...this great tune was the stand out recording from these sessions and has been proven a true essential.
    another flawless recording.
    everything comes together...perfectly.

the b-side to devil in disguise...this is really a fun song and a dynamite single 1-2 punch.
devil would reach #3 on the us charts and easily go gold.
the b-side is one of his better songs from this period...very under-rated.
    cowboyec
    cowboyec
put together...this album reflects an artist still determined...still caring...still trying.
this album woulda been a refreshing reminder in the midst of the wilderness...the endless string of soundtrack albums.
when given something to sink his teeth into...he would/could easily arise to any occassion.
too bad this album wouldn't see the light of day til the 90s...on the cd...the lost album.
