Elliot has elite change of speed and change of direction ability. He is a master at creating when nothing is there, but he can also flow to the hole and get downhill very quickly. Richardson was a one trick pony when he came out -- a one-cut runner who lacked the vision Elliot has to create and get to the next level. Elliot is also a very rare combination of size and speed, whereas Richardson was more of a prototypical power back coming out. Richardson had the 40 time, but when asked to change speed and/or direction, he loses a lot of steam and takes a few steps to get back up to speed. Elliot today, is a more complete back that Richardson ever was or will be.

Even the Browns brass admitted that they decided to trade him because Trent lacked vision and was slow to see holes.

Great question, I wish I could provide you with an intelligent answer. :)

Richardson only played one year as a starter (Ingram's backup?) before he came out for the draft. You would think that there would have been enough tape to determine whether he was the real deal or just a one-hit wonder. On paper he was legit but there were questions about his motivation and he did go to a bad team. It is possible that the culture in Cleveland killed his spirit and it's also possible they did not use him well.

Dallas is not a bad team and already has a line in place that would enhance Elliot's running style. Elliot has been performing at a high level for several seasons. Is he a lock as a premier back? I guess not but I'd still take my chances with him; if he's special, he makes this offense great.

Thanks for the info. I really enjoyed it. You made some valid points and I also think Elliot would have a ton of success here in Dallas

I agree with everything you said. I feel Elliot would be a game changer for us. Especially with our OL blocking for him
