There was that one QB from UCLA taken about 17 years ago with a #1 pick.

I think he might have turned out pretty good.

I agree. i think palmer is more on his way to becoming great. I hope every year that payton gets over that hump

I think Bledsoe should make the list. Top 10 in many passing stats and still in his prime. If he adds a SB or 2 to his resume, he'll be up there with the greats.

Umm.. still in his prime?

I don't know if I'd go that far but he's most definately better than what we've had as Qb since Troy retired and certainly much better than Vinny ever was for us.

The most recent would be Peyton Manning and Carson Palmer.

I also think Drew Bledsoe has lived up to the #1 pick hype.

I would probably put these players as the best next to Aikman:

O.J. Simpson, 1969

Terry Bradshaw, 1970

Earl Campbell, 1978

John Elway, 1983

Bruce Smith, 1985

I think you have to throw in Steve Young in there. Ken Simms had a great career. George Rogers did pretty well. Ricky Bell was a great player on a horrible team so I don't know what you say there. Lee Roy Selmon was a great player, also on a horrible team. John Matuzak had a pretty good career. Jim Plunkett ended up having a pretty decent career. Ron Yary was a good player as well. Bubba Smith made out pretty well. There are a couple of em out there.
