when im watching other teams play, i see so many other, inferior, tight ends getting these tds and great stats when witten never seems get the tds he deserves.

He still puts up the receptions and yards but hes so much better than some of these other TEs who get the opportunities to catch tds but we never seem to give witten those chances. always seems like hes held in to block or romo doesnt look his way.

I know thats a by product of having so many weapons but i love me some witten.

That is all, GO COWBOYS!

It's more a byproduct of scheme than Romo not looking for him if I had to guess.

They also usually put a safety over top and a LB underneath him in the redzone. On crucial 3rd down teams like to box Witten in because they know Romo likes to go to Witten when things are tight.

This isn't Madden. We don't have to try to get stats for guys. Witten is on his way to the hall of fame, and other teams aren't stupid enough to let him get open for easy TDs in the red zone anymore. He'll score when he scores, but he's never going to get as many as he did earlier in his career. Miles, Dez, and Roy are snatching them all. =P

Agreed OP - it's not the scheme - it's stupidity. You get inside the 15 , you go play action to your TE.

Garrett went to Princeton, and he likes to show you that.

witten really needs the bye week, the penalties are not helping either.

Good grief.

Seriously, are you that surprised. I'm really disappointed that we don't have any pick-6's. I want more two-point conversions. We should challenge more calls.
;)

Wow guys seriously? i wasnt even trying to actually complain about anything especially not the way our teams playing, the way the mods edited my topic title makes it seem that way though, i was merely mentioning how i wish witten would have better stats than these inferior TEs, try not to jump every single person who makes a post, i didnt even MENTION anything about this weeks game.

Don't forget, Witten has a career high in TDs of 7, and two other seasons of 6, but it's not like he's ever been some TD factory. We used to hit him down the seam more than we do now and he'd score TDs on that, but not a lot of teams are going to give up that play to Witten anymore.

In terms of red zone TDs, this is not some athletic TE that you throw jump balls to. He's not just some insane red zone weapon. Sure, he'll get open down there on some play action, but people act like he's a huge red zone weapon when that is really not a strong part of his game.

Does that stop A. Gates? Or does Witten get more attention than he does? Excuse city

Yes but Witten is not as big as gates either two different type of TE and Witten is no where near as athletic as gates

My point is, I know Witten is a fan favorite on this board, but to say he can't get busy in the red zone because he's drawing so much attention is pure BS. Gates attracts way more attention than Witten. Witten just isn't as good as him. People keep talking about him getting into the Hall of Fame. I don't know about that.

Witten needs to focus on other things, like not jumping offsides and getting run over by defensive backs.

Who cares about stats when you just got a W? Who cares about fantasy points unless you have Witten on your fantasy team?

:lmao: That comment wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't true. The man does tend to out-think himself quite often.

Witten has never been a TD machine at any point in his career, but he will get them here and there. He's almost like a possession receiver and he always seems to come up huge on 3rd down and in late game situations.

he has more drive killing penalties than TDs.

btw, he had more false starts than Flozell last year, yet nobody rags on Witten for his stupid mistakes

So Witten is a Hall of fame lock? Are you on crack man?
