You KNOW if/when Bob gets in I will be there. This guy MUST be in the HOF to make it complete. Right now there is a Bob Hayes size hole in the Hall.

The Hall of Fame is and will be a joke until Hayes enters. As Hostile said, he changed the game... radically. He was a terrific football player. I am a big Gale Sayers fan, but there isn't a single argument for putting Sayers in the Hall that couldn't be applied to Bobby Hayes.

I actually saw that earlier today. I need a bigger one if I am going to wear it. A size 40 would kill me.

I'll end up ordering it custom I'm sure. I can't decide on White or Navy though.

More food for thought. Here's the email reply that I received a few weeks ago from Rick Gosselin regarding Bob Hayes' chances of finally getting voted in the NFL HoF:


I feel good about Hayes chances. It's rare that a player gets a second calling as a senior candidate. Lou Creekmur and Henry Jordan were both brought back a second time and both were voted in the second time. So I like Hayes chances. I'll be part of the presentation package on Hayes, but the Hall hasn't assigned his official presentation to me or anyone else yet. Thanks for your interest.

Bob Hayes was the reason I became a Cowboy fan.

They would throw him that little hitch pass and he be gone in a flash.

Averaged over 20 yards per punt return one season.

For those who didn't see him play, think of him this way....Deion Sanders with more speed. Ya know how every time Deion touched the ball there was an electricity because something big might happen. That was Hayes...PLUS.

January 31 is a great day in Cowboys history...

1) It's my birthday, I mean come on.
2) That's the day in 1993 we won Super Bowl XXVII... the 52-17 Buffalo spanking.
3) Bob Hayes will be inducted into the Pro Football hall of Fame.

I remember it for similar reasons. My youngest son came to live with us on that day via adotion. A great day watching the game with my 22 month old. It was great. We celebrate his arrival every year. Here's hoping that "The Bullet" gets his due.

In that video, did you guys see how Bob Hayes just turned it on in that race and just blew by everybody?

Also, Hostile is correct, Geroge Preston Marshall was a big time racists but from what I understand he supposedly change.

Regardless, I am on the fence as to whether off the field issues should be used to judge whether you are a Hall of Famer on the field.
