1) Earl Thomas FS UT

2) Nate Allen FS USF

3) Deunta Williams FS UNC

4) Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin

5) Tyson Alualu DE Cal

6) Arthur Jones DE/DT Syracuse

7) Kyle Calloway OT Iowa

8) Javier Arenas PR/KR/CB Alabama

9) Mike Johnson OG Alabama

10) Chris Scott G/T Tennessee

Love Jason Fox, but I think he's pretty much a pure LT. We already have ours.

If we resign Spears scratch Alualu and Jones.

Nate Allen goes to a school named after him?

Yes. Retiring a jersey number or naming a stadium after someone as been turned into a cliche.

I think we will be in the running for a decent left tackle this year. I think the depth is there in this draft and with Flozell starting to deteriorate, I think this is the year we draft a left tackle in the first round.

The overall quality of this draft will push a player down to us, plus I feel Jerry will move up. The more "Golden Boy" QB's that declare, the better the WR, T, or S who falls to us.

2010 Tackles
Russell Okung - Oklahoma State - may go Top 5
Bryan Bulaga - Iowa
Bruce Campbell - Maryland
Charles Brown - USC
Trent Williams - Oklahoma
Anthony Davis - Rutgers

Left tackle is a desired spot on draft day but with all of the talent this year, it is possible we will have our choice of 1 or 2 of these guys. Although Mike Iupati is a guard, he can be considered here as well.

3 things with going OL in one..........

1) We haven't done that since 1989

2) Before that it was 1981

3) I don't think we are as desperate at OL/LT as everyone thinks.

3 things that make me think we will.

1) Our starting tackles will be 35 and 32 next year.

2) Flozell is struggling more and more against speed rushers. He gets slower every year and they get faster. Throw in the false start and tripping issues and I think the end is near.

3) Flozell's cap number is $7.6 in 2010, $7.7 in 2011, $7.7 in 2012, and $7.7 in 2013. Jerry has to pay him $5 M in actual salary next year. If the year is uncapped I think he gets the boot (unless he opts to sign a smaller, cap-friendlier type deal).

Our tackles were old and washed up going into the draft.

Why pass on Vollmer, Beatty and Loadholt?

Wade coached at Houston.

Jeffcoat is on the staff at Houston.

Dat had his bags packed and had offer from Houston.

There couldn't have been a team with more info on Vollmer.

Loadholt too for that matter.

Our tackles must be pretty ok to put up the numbers our O has over the last 3 or so years.

Vollmer/Loadholt would have been ready to go day one.....

Yet we passed.

Don't draft progress stoppers.........

We didn't do it with Romo, Austin, Rat.

I don't see us doing it with Free at LT.

RT...I can see that being addressed in 3 ish range.

And if Flo's contract is an issue.....

Free steps in on the cheap and you draft a RT who can back both T spots until ready to start at RT.

Alot of people think that was a mistake, me included. They should draft a LT early. Maybe Free is the answer, maybe not. Theoretically a LT should be able to play both sides and both tackles are aging. It is a position of need.
