The score doesn't mean anything to me tommorow night. Here is a list of 10 things I want to see.
1. Demarcus Ware putting consistent pressure on the quarterback, maybe even getting his first sack.
2. Another solid outing by Chris Canty.
3. A solid outing by the secondary, specifically Newman, Davis and Beriault. I know Beriault is coming off an injury but it's time to step up. Keith Davis needs to ease my mind at FS. Newman needs to show me he is a top tier corner, and that last season's 'slump' was more a product of what was around him rather than him taking a step back. I also want to see Roy playing BIG in the box and being disruptive at the LOS.
4. Julius Jones continuing to run the ball well and :gasp: hauling in some receptions. I believe JJ can really rack up the YAC and make things happen ala Tomlinson and Westbrook.
5. Tyson Thompson and Marion Barber need to show they are capable of playing at this level. Barber has "hit a wall" as Parcells decribes it, and while Thompson was impressive last week he still has a long way to go. I need to see that both of them are capable of blocking and catching the ball out of the backfield. I also would like to see Thompson running the ball up the middle and getting the tough yards. Parcells won't keep a back if he cant do it all (see Reshard Lee.)
6. Drew Bledsoe showing presence in the pocket. I don't want to see him holding on to the ball waiting for someone to get open. If there is nothing there, throw it away. I would much rather the incomplete pass than an interception, sack or fumble. STOP TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING.
7. Drew Henson, physically you are everything that us fans want in a quarterback. You have a rifle for an arm, you can move around in the pocket and your body type is perfect for the quarterback position. Now show me you can run this offense. Let me see you READ the defense, avoid the SACK, make GOOD decisions, not FORCE throws and most of all be the field general this team needs. I'm sick of having a quarterback drive the bus, I want one who can make things happen, I believe you can. SHOW ME YOU ARE THE QB OF THE FUTURE!
8. Tony Romo, you have been impressive so far. I want you to show your arm strength and thread the needle. Shut these guys up on the message board who think you have a noodle for an arm and can only find Witten.
9. Patrick Crayton, show me how good those hands are and show me you can make things happen. I don't need to see blazing speed, I want to see crisp route running and a solid reciever who can consistently catch the ball, something Morgan cannot do.
And last but not least,
10. Rob Pettiti, please step up. I know you are capable of holding down the fort at RT, show me you can do it. Tommorow is your chance to make an impression, the playing time is yours. Show me you are the player I think you are and show Parcells he doesn't need to sign a FA. I don't expect miracles, just solid play.
Please feel free to add on to the list starting at # 11. Lets dig this thread up after the game to see how things turned out.
