We keep everybody on this team...

We're going to get that much better

2009 injured rookies
2010 rookies (1, 2, 3 round draft picks)
1 or 2 free agents
continued maturation of our current players

I didn't know when people talk about a capless year coming up that meant the roster cap too! ;)

we need to add a young first round left tackle and another stud OL--that's it--and we now have depth everywhere else (we could probably draft defensive backs

Perhaps we can keep the coordinators and add a head coach too. :p:

Well, I think they will keep everyone they want to keep and thats all that really matters. A few players will have to go to make room for the injured rookies and next years rookies.

I like Wade Phillips on defense, but I still think we could have a better head coach.

And we need a more balanced coordinator. We have Mike Martz junior here.

We definitely need to address secondary and offensive line through the draft.

We need a C/G to backup Gurode unless they feel Proctor is the answer. I'd be very happy to see two or even three OL drafted this coming year.

Well, logic dictates that we cannot have 100% retention if you're going to add rookies and free agents to the roster...

Then again screw logic. We'll keep everyone and then add ten players. We'll run with a 63 man roster.

some people are so stuck on being smart ***** they dont pay attention, but in the process of trying to be smart and funny, they're actually just making ***** out of themselves...

How many games do they play in the offseason?

4 actually... its called preseason.

We can weed off who isn't capable of making the team, rather than LOSE players who are quality...

i.e. kevin burnett, chris canty or players we cut ties with for one reason or another i.e tank johnson, roy williams, greg ellis, terrell owens...

believe it or not the entire make up of this team is VERY different.

We have 1 new starter on offense
We have 5 new starters on defense

If Spears wants Canty money, he will be gone. If he will take Igor money or slightly more, then I say he stays.

it may not happen in 2010 but if they go to 18 game schedules, I expect teams to go from 53 to at least 55 players and Gameday Active lists to go from 45 to 50.

As far as 100 percent retention, I'm not sold on Ken Hamlin, although he is playing MUCH better. Pat McQusitan, Montrae Holland, Cory Procter, and Duke Preston are all free agents and I would be okay with 3 of the 4 leaving.

The defensive line has 4 potential free agents but as long as they aren't looking for huge paydays, I'd love to have all of them back.

The OP is right though, I could see a lot of the same faces on the 53 man roster in 2010. This free agent class could have some bigtime names and this draft will be special so there are impact players to be had. It will be nice to not have to overspend though. We really don't need a lot, maybe some upgrades and the before mentioned OL depth.

Just don't see 100% as realistic.
Change is good.

Who would you let go?

Only people I can even think of would at least need replacements groomed.

Ken Hamlin, Flozell Adams, Roy Williams, Patrick Crayton, Bobby Carpenter, Keith Brooking.

And most of these guys have decently long contracts.

Doug Free
Cory Proctor
Pat McQuistan
Duke Preston
Stephen Bowen
Junior Siavii
Bobby Carpenter
Steve Octavien
Curtis Johnson
Ken Hamlin
Alan Ball
Allen Rossum

All these players on the 53 man roster, can be upgraded through FA or the draft next year IMO.

Completely agree with you on the offensive line depth.

What i would like to see is

Doug Free, Robert Brewster, Free Agent, Rookie, Rookie
