The incredible thing about Babe's career is that he is the only baseball player that would have ended up in the HOF at either Pitcher or Otherwise- no one else really comes close. One of the little known facts is that as a pitcher Babe held the hitless record in the World series for something like 70 years (ought to look it up but am too lazy)
That to me makes him easily the greatest Baseball Player of all time.
and then you add to the fact that he was larger then life in just about all ways and there you have to me the greatest athlete of all time (when you count everything)
