Broke the Rolling Stones' record from '81 Superdome. The Jones Family keeps on winning.

ARLINGTON — That roar you heard or felt coming from here around 7:30 Saturday night? Earthquake? Tornado? Nope, but close: A force of nature named George Strait had just walked onstage at AT&T Stadium for the final show of his Cowboy Rides Away tour, a two-year, cross-country sweep that he says will be his last.

Dressed in a blue-checked Western shirt, jeans and his trademark black hat, the Poteet (south of San Antonio) native launched into the 1995 classic “Check Yes or No,” motivating the giddy crowd into its first of many singalongs.

The 104,793 people in attendance made history — the event marked a new record for largest indoor concert in North America, easily zapping the earlier high mark of around 87,500, set in 1981 by the Rolling Stones at the Louisiana Superdome. Coincidentally, 1981 is when Strait launched his career with the single “Unwound” and the album Strait Country.

how do you not get that? realists boycot jerry world.

Says who? That makes no sense. If you aren't drinking the Kool-Aid, you're boycotting the team? Some of you are so bitter.

Crazy that it took three posts for this to become a flaming thread.

Pfft.

Try 180,000 over two nights at a Muse concert at Wembley.

Guarantee they would have exceeded that had this been two nights. I put my tickets up high enough that I thought there'd be no way anyone in their right mind would buy them, they were gone in 2 hours. These tickets were in very high demand in D/FW.

Do you guys get tix for the '15 CMT Awards? I heard they sold out 70,000 tix in 15 minutes. Jerry keeps on winning.

Of course, being his last concert. I know some people who would have paid a billion dollars to attend if they could.

Sad really. Country is no longer country music. It's hip hop with a slight twang. What's really ignorant is when you hear these goofball, mainstream guys like Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan rapping in their songs. Pathetic!
Gonna miss ya Gentleman George!

I'd rather see George Strait, Alan Jackson or Gary Allan instead of Jason Alden, Rascal Flatts or Keith Urban any day of the week. Classic country music is a dying breed. The Randy Rogers Band, here in Texas, put on an awesome show and I'd prefer seeing the instead of Urban, Rascal Flatts or Aldean. There'll never be another George Strait.

I'd rather see Slayer.

Feel sorry for the guy that bought my tickets. :)
I don't want to know what you sold yours for, but would you mind telling me how much they cost you? PM is fine if you don't want to say it publicly.
