105.3 Is it time to cut Blue?

Give him a lot of snaps in every preseason game. Let him figure it out there, where it doesn't count. But for him it counts. So if he's spittin' up the ball in preseason, he'll do it in regular season.

Malik Davis is likely RB2 right now anyway, and there is zero reason to cut your young RB3 who has some dynamic traits you can potentially build off of.

Imagine giving Deuce Vaughn a longer leash than Blue.

When it was said that they were pursuing a trade for a backup player my first reaction was RB2.

Who knows how accurate this is or what the coaches are thinking, but it’d be a shame if he didn’t become anything at all.

Blue has had a fumbling issue all his life. He was never the lead back at Texas because he couldn’t be trusted with the ball on a consistent basis. Until he proves that he can hold onto the ball, he can only be a gadget guy, possibly getting 4-5 touches per game. But…everyone will know he’s likely getting a pass on passing downs because you can’t trust his pass protection either. He doesn’t play special teams.

Unless he can win the #2 RB spot, it’s likely he will never be active on game day.
I hope he makes it. I hope he finds a niche that makes him valuable to winning games. But let’s stop viewing him through a homer’s lens. Blue was not drafted until the fifth round. He was the 149th player taken with 12 RBs taken ahead of him. All 32 teams clearly had concerns about him.

I don’t see the Cowboys giving up on him yet, but I believe Blue and Abanikanda will get lots of action in the preseason games. Blue better not have any fumbles.

But apparently, he is now fumble prone now that he made that 1 fumble... At least that's according to some fans....
Check out his history, all through college. Google it.

Yes, Jaydon Blue did have notable ball security and fumbling concerns during his college career at Texas. He dealt with a high fumble rate relative to his total touches—including losing multiple key fumbles during the 2024 season (such as against Mississippi State and previously in the Sugar Bowl against Washington)—which drew scrutiny from his coaches and analysts. [1, 2, 3, 4]

College Fumbling Context
    • High Fumble Rate: Analysts noted a high frequency of fumbles relative to his touches during his time with the Texas Longhorns. [1, 2]
    • Specific Incidents: He was briefly benched during a 2024 game against Mississippi State after losing two fumbles, and also had a costly fumble in the prior year's postseason against Washington. [1, 2]
    • Technical Habits: Head coach Steve Sarkisian and Blue himself pointed out that the issues often came down to technical mechanics, such as carrying the ball too loosely or naturally tucking it on his left side. Blue even resorted to carrying a football around campus to build better muscle memory. [1, 2]

They cant or wont cut him as his rookie deal is %100 guaranteed !!
So they have to pay him whether he is cut or not.
they would open a roster spot, but it would be better to just trade him.

As for fumbles, it could be that the new defense is trying hard to get the ball out, so the off guys will get better at holding on to it.
Rookies only get regularly guaranteed rookie deals, not fully guaranteed. Teams cut
rookies all the time, like Trysten Hill, Taco Charlton, John Ridgeway

No you don’t cut him, that’s a pretty ridiculous statement at this point. Worst case you throw him into a couple preseason games to see if he can raise his stock and flip him for a pick.

He fumbled, so obviously he's no good. Never mind that Mafah also fumbled very early on in camp.
And not right and never mind that Jake Ferguson had a record amount of fumbles last year I saw Williams fumble in a critical situation was it in Chicago or was it Denver I don't remember but it was bad I remember seeing George Pickens drop some balls and fumble what turned into an interception but it was really a fumble II saw the same thing from Flow might have been in the same game..

Ezekiel I have a year where he fumble a whole lot that's not what he is about I don't want to hear about how he should be cut I hear that the coaches are high on him and think he's got something he'll be more heavily in the rotation this year I don't think he's getting cut...

However just watching practices and clips I think if they put Davis on the practice squad which would be odd he was the best number two last year But that guy Israel I can't pronounce his last name looks like he's a cross between Davis and Blue He's got some speed Maybe he comes up the board real quick once preseason games start..

But you're right other guys are making mistakes they're missing tackles they're dropping passes they're missing blocks and we're gonna talk about Blue individually and signaling him out when I've heard nothing but good things from him so far..

I haven't read about him fumbling until today. If we think he's not going to have any, we're expecting too much. Now, if he turns around and has one in the preseason game and one in another preseason game, then it's a problem.
Especially early in camp when they don't allow a lot of contact and all of a sudden the contact starts coming that's what this is for you workout all your jitters and your issues during practices during camp and during preseason that's exactly why they call it practice They're making sure when you get in games you're now more prepared for the hits and the weird angles and the people punching out the ball..

I'm not worried about it... Everything coming from the coach's mouth and the front office they like this guy and I don't think he's being cut so these people are sports idoits..

I hate The Fan

The entire station seems like they have meetings where they take a stack of stupid clickbait ideas and then divvy them up across all the shows to make sure each one had a chance of to be equally stupid and outrageous.
That's just todays media. You're either a lapdog or an attack dog.

Blue.

As a Cowboys fan you should be aware of Blue. Blasphemy if you dont know!

The cutdown date is August 29, 2026. That is 18 days to see if he keeps fumbling or not. No reason to cut him now unless you have a replacement in mind or you are good with Davis, Abanikanda, Corbin and Mafha.

It seems self-explanatory to me, ruffian.
Its stupid is what it is. Ruffian
