Fish is saying we arent looking hard at trade downs. Want to pick at 4.

Stupid if true

Great. So it's Elliott.

After two years of telling everyone we don't need to invest top resources in a TB we are going to take our best pick in 20+ years and do what?

Take a TB.

LOL.

Go to the playoffs? Score more TDs and win more games?

Draft Elliot and you can go ahead and throw all of your picks at defense afterwards, I don't care. We have a balanced, well-rounded and dangerous offense with Romo, Zeke and Dez. Throw in Williams and Witten and Beasely, and we'll have a shot in every game.

The only way taking Elliott at gets better?

When we trade up into the 20s to take Connor Cook.

Elliott is largely inconsequential to making the playoffs (unless of course he can throw the football). It all rests on whether Romo is going to be healthy. If he gets hurt again, there's no a damn thing Elliott can do to change the fact we are screwed.

Romo's infinitely more important than who the TB is.

Elliot is not inconsequential. So there. He's vital. Having a dominant running game is literally the ONLY winning formula under Garrett.

He's not vital. We had a dominant running game behind this OL with a 3rd round TB in Murray. We then had a total washed up bum run for 1,000 yards last year but lost 12 games. Why?

Because there was no Romo. Subtract Romo and I don't care if you have Elliott, this team is a 8-9-10 loss team.

Romo was perfectly healthy the first three 8-8 seasons. What changed? A dominant running game. Sure, it was a third round pick--who had a dominant year. If we draft Elliot, chances are he can replicate that dominate year. McFadden can't. He's had seven professional years and has stayed healthy in exactly 1. Banking on him to drive us to the playoffs is as smart as banking on underwear thief Joseph Randle.

Then,if we draft a 3rd,4th,5th round RB, chances are lower that he'll be able to replicate a dominant performance. Especially because chances are, that 3rd,4th,5th round RB won't be a good pass blocker and pass catcher as Zeke--meaning he won't stay on the field for 3 downs and will have less opportunities to dominate.

I select health for Romo at #4.

Here is Fishers tweet. Covers his backside in typical Fish fashion

LOL. So we could trade down. And that we have two players we like at 4............... Ramsey and Elliott?

Gee, thanks Fish for being two days late in that report.

Then it makes sense to draft a piece that helps protect Romo. Guys like Zeke and Dixon can do everything including blitz pickup and pass block.

Plus you can run the ball all game

This current version of the Cowboy's O-line wasn't complete until 2014, so maybe there wouldn't of been the consecutive 8-8 seasons.

Trade down to 7 and select Zeke and then trade up from 34 with capital from R1 pick and select Rankins. Zeke and Rankins tonight.

Wouldn't be the worst deal.....

But still...I keep thinking 4 years down the road...Lynch will just be getting his feet wet...probably gonna play for the next 8-10...While Zeke will be in the final year of his contract.

And I highly doubt the Cowboys pony up another contract to a RB you know they will ride into the ground.
