We will have 14-15 new players on the roster but not 11 rookies. I challange you to show me 11 players that are currently under contract, or players that were on the team last year that will be filled by a rookie. I do believe TO's roster spot will be filled by a rookie but, Zach Thomas' spot has already been filled by a vet. 11 rookies can't make this roster!

There is no chance Jerry keeps 11 picks

If by that you mean there is no chance he keeps those specific 11 picks, I'd say that's probably true. But what evidence I've gathered suggests that successful teams tend to have more draft picks than the average, and that those picks tend to be low draft choices as opposed to high draft choices.

It takes a perpetual loser like Detroit to accumulate high draft choices.

OK, let me give it a try.

That said, I don't think JJ will keep all 11 picks. We'll probably end up with around 8 or so. However, I think we could upgrade 11 positions on the team with rookies if we had a solid draft.

1. 3rd QB. No brainer. There's a good chance this gets done, esp with Kitna on board as our number 2. Might as well draft a QB with more upside than B Bollinger. We may even draft a QB in Round 6 or 7 or possiby an undrafted FA.

2. FB. Again, Cricket has great personality, but I think we could upgrade the position. If we are going to emphasize the running game more, I think this is a real option.

3. WR. TO's position could be taken by a rookie instead of a vet. I'm guessing we're going to draft a rookie with PR and KR ability as well who we will groom as a wideout. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked given Stanback's shoulder issues if 2 rookies make the roster at wideout.

4. OG. With Berger gone to Miami, I think we draft his replacement.

5. C/OT/OG. I think we could easily upgrade guys like C Proctor, McQuisten as well via the Draft.

6. 3rd TE. We know how much Garrett likes the TE position. Clearly, Witten and Bennett are here to stay. But if we go with 3 TEs, this position can be upgraded.

7. NT/DT. Tank's gone, and we should be looking to the Draft for a rotational guy behind Ratliff. We need to invest in our trenches.

8. ILB. Burnett's replacement. I think this is a given.

9. OLB. Even if we keep Ellis, we need one more. Ellis is on his last legs, and after Ware and Spencer, we don't have depth. I think we definitely get one OLB this year.

10. Safety. We cut R Williams, Davis may not be back, and Watkins is upgradeable. After Hamlin and Sensabaugh, we don't really have much there. We could easily take 2 Safeties and they would make the team. IMO, we're definitely going to draft at least 1 Safety.

11. CB. Pac and Henry are gone. We are definitely going to need more than Newman, Jenkins, Scandrick, and Ball. This is a given.

I haven't even discussed upgrading guys like Carpenter.

We aren't New England.

We are Dallas.

We were 9-7 last year.

11 rookies could easily make this team.
