I usually don't get into the what-if scenarios, but I can't help but wonder how this season would have gone with a healthy Romo.

We went 3-1 with Romo (so maybe the easy thing to do is multiple that for the season to reach 12-4; but who wants to take the easy way?)

Now, I could be wrong, but I believe having Romo is worth at least a touchdown more than we scored in any game (not having Dez could bring down that average, though), That gives us at least five more victories, plus the Giants game that we lost by seven, to put us at 10 victories.

I think we would have lost to the Patriots and Panthers no matter what. The Packers also beat us pretty handily. So those three I'll count as losses even with Romo to make us 10-3.

I think we would have beaten the Bills, who only scored 16, for 11-3, and lost to either Atlanta (defense played poorly) or Washington at the end of the year for 12-4.

Yes, before anyone says it, I know this is an exercise in futility, but considering how futile this season has been, I have to go to my happy place ... and 12-4 makes me happy.

Had Romo played 14-16 games I don't see a scenario where the Cowboys don't win at least 10 games.

Once the made the playoffs who knows what could have happened, however, my gut tells me they probably wouldn't have made it to the big game. We'll never know...

9-7.

This team has a lot of issues.

Romo would have bailed us out a few games and by 9-7 that means 5 which is a lot and more than you can ask. He likely would have had another bad game or so like Carolina it happens to all QBs.

Assuming still no Dez or a shaky Dez too.

It would have been a lot better for sure. The D might have gotten more turnovers, which happens when teams are playing from behind. They would not have been worn down in the 4th Q, DMac would have led the league in rushing or very close to it. I had us at 11-5 before the season began and in the SB, all of which I think is very possible with Romo at QB. This is a QB Driven league. Without one, you don't stand a chance.

No!

8-8, maybe 9-7. Tony didn't look right before the injury or in Carolina. We had alot of more issues than injuries. I think DeMarco hurt us the most. Our gameplan was based on him and the defense got the benefit of that ball control. We relied on a a guy who couldn't be depended on..mentally...from Day 1 and then turned it over to a guy who did better than expected but wasn't game planned around. Romo still would have had to throw more that he should and with that will come mistakes. I also don't buy the "we were close in so many games without him, so we would have won them." We will never know how those teams would game plan with him starting or if Tony was Carolina/Giants Tony. It's a guessing game. I think overall there was too much over confidence from one good year and many players have hinted at the team not having "it."

I predicted 9 wins prior to the season with a healthy Romo. Based on how the Cowboys looked in the opener they looked like an 8 or 9 win team with Romo. The team looked very similar to the teams that went 8-8. Romo had 7 INT's in less than 4 games because he was back having to carry the offense so there was going to be some issues even had he stayed healthy for a full season. When you go 1-11 without your starting QB your issues are a lot deeper than QB.

People that think, like Jerry that the Cowboys would have been 12-4 with a healthy Romo haven't been watching these games close enough this year, there is significant problems with the coaching, the scheme, player development and philosophy within this franchise......All you have to do is read Bob Sturm's column today for a dose of that reality how bad this team was this year......

I don't know but 3 of the 4 wins came with Romo as the starter and opened the season 2-0 with Romo starting. I think our chances would have been pretty darn good.

They got smashed by the best team in the league with Romo in the lineup is all I know. He only played well the last drive of the Giant game and last half of the Miami game. This team wasnt going far regardless.

About 9 and 7, maybe 10 and 6, higher if we had had a healthy Dez who had been to all of training camp. Dez was not the same player as last year simply because he was not in as great of shape as then. A healthy Orlando Scandrick and Lance Dunbar would have helped the team a bunch too.

I wanted to believe this team could win 12, but this year has indicated that they were likely a 9 winner.

And yet over on the Cowboys Facebook pages, people are straight up ripping the dude for being a bum and not doing better.

The average fan of this organization is beyond clueless.

He had a horrible game in Carolina---similar to the Eagles Thanksgiving game last season.

Miami, he was rusty....and I remember a couple tips leading to interceptions through the first two games leading to interceptions. I truly don't look at those interception numbers as a sign he was doing too much. I remember Romo taking what the defense gives him without pressing the issue, a lot of check downs and underneath stuff those first two games.

Regardless, we didn't see enough of Romo to know enough about this team. Our defense had problems but they were good enough, our running game was solid....We had the worst QB play in the league, that is why we were so bad.

With the NFCE being as bad as they were, I could easily see 12-4. Although I dont think we beat the top 5-6 teams in the league, even with a 12-4 record.

Carolina. Seattle. AZ, Pats, Steelers, Broncos, Bengals, Cheifs, heck even the PAckers, Vikings and Texans would be difficult to beat. And thats WITH Romo.

last year was a fluke,,,,, a lucky break,

We may get those lucky breaks next year,,,,, maybe.
