I remember when the 12 personnel was getting really popular a few years ago.

Is it still the right personnel for a Dak offense?

Or is the 12 personnel better for protecting a fragile Romo?

Looking back at some of our running plays, Zeke seems to have more success running when we had 3 receivers.

Other post suggested 4WR sets.
Perhaps we should go to a spread offense that forces defenses to defend the whole field.

Or at least if we use the 12 personnel, line up the 2 TEs outside to draw the defense away from Zeke?

it doesn't matter if it's dak or romo. you need two good TEs. right now they have witten and two scrubs. but the problem is, with beasley in he slot. there's no one to block with 3 wrs.

Thank goodness we have Escobar though. I think I saw him make a special teams tackle. Still better than our past three 2nd round picks yesterday.

if we want to have beasley, we can line him up on the outside where blocking is less critical.
or we can put in butler who is big enough to block?

I hate when I see us put Dak in shotgun by himself. Gotta give a rookie an extra blocker and a quick outlet out of the backfield.

The 12 personnel has never worked here. Never. JG likes the concept but sucks at it. He's wasted two 2nd round picks on TE's with no idea how to use them. 2 freaking 2nd round picks when you have a HOF TE who's missed one freakin games in his career!!!! Genius.

i think part of it is they thought witten was slowing down and wanted to have the replacement ready

Commanders used 1 WR and 3 TEs spread out wide as recievers and had a little success. Seems we have pass catching TEs that we try to get to block

Dak-mobile
Romo-......hmmmm.....not as mobile

They're going to play the vertical offense the majority of the time and keep Dak in the pocket. But he should get more rollouts etc. JMO.

witten may have been a decent blocker
it does not appear so any more

Could be, but how has that worked out lately too.....yeah, I know, it wasn't that on the field when he was hurt. Or I don't think it was.

i agree with the other guy who was suggesting 4 wr and zeke.

if that is our base offense, the D cannot afford to single cover the WRs all game.
if they play zone, witten will be #1 receiving option, while that would open up a running a bit.
if they play a S back, then we have the numbers with 4DL and 2LB/S against 5OL, zeke/morris and QB who can run.
if they dont keep a S back, then they are risking big play after big play.
any single completion can result in a TD if a single DB tackle is broken.

now we can even add a no huddle to it.
that would lock in the defensive personnel.
and we can still run the clock down to rest the D because D would not dare try to rotate players in?
