Dak-mobile
Romo-......hmmmm.....not as mobile

They're going to play the vertical offense the majority of the time and keep Dak in the pocket. But he should get more rollouts etc. JMO.

yup, we can basically play the read option/spread only minimize Dak's carries.
say 5-6 a game would be plenty to distract the defense but protect Dak's health
this spread offense is definitely run-first because of our OL and zeke/morris

I don't like the read option even that much. I was talking designed rollouts to isolate a more vulnerable part of the field. They did that 2-3 times last game. I'd say 2-4 times a half if the defense cheats on Dez. Clear the safety and CB on say the left with Dez. Clear the right with an in/drag/slant/post with Wil then send Beasley across to the right covered by the LB. Let the Y cross and rub or just run a route to that side up the seam. Seemed to work Sunday.

They need to let Dak play and just keep reminding him to protect the ball. Stay away from patterns that are jumped more easily. And let him run on occasion.

Bro, It doesn't matter, Jason Garrett uses the Madden 98 "generic" playbook.

i dont understand why there were so few rollouts.
it is almost coaches were too lazy to design stuff for dak
or it is a stubborn pride that they do not need to do that.
they did say nothing had to be designed for dak...
like marinelli refusing to get a 330lb 1tech.

there are so many ways that may open up the run game.
it seemed anything with 3WR helped zeke.

actually 4wr with whitehead in motion could give us an even bigger numerical advantage at the point of attack (sort of)...
i can see dez, butler, williams/beasley and witten line up as WR and zeke/morris in the backfield.

witten may have been a decent blocker
it does not appear so any more
Yesterday his issue was he is too slow to get to a spot across the formation to block a good disruptive DE like Vernon, I think JPP would have given him problems too if he had to go from the left side to the right and try and hold up JPP.

if we want to have beasley, we can line him up on the outside where blocking is less critical.
or we can put in butler who is big enough to block?

When they do this its a clear tell that's it's a run play. They did this with Harris. This offense has very many personal and formation tells in it. That's one big reason why it's so predictable.

i remember a play where witten had vernon block until vernon just threw him away

i still remember garrett being a hot new OC because he had a spaceage offensive system...

Turns out it was an ice age offensive system. I watch other teams, and think how much our offensive suck.

i dont see how a formation with beasley, dez, witten and butler/twil has to be a run play.
i think it works for both run and pass?

Why would you carry two fullbacks on a roster and not use one of them? I think the running game is better with a FB

When they line up with a slot guy outside, they always run. Beasly isn't an outside threat and everyone knows that.

another advantage of 4WR is that the D may have to go to dime.
even if they do not go to dime, they would almost definitely have to go to nickel.
that obviously means less LBs and more DBs for zeke/morris to run over.

if you keep a FB, then D can keep an extra LB.
furthermore, when we run Dak, that is one more fast big guy who can lay the wood on dak
another negative is our FBs may not be good receivers.

but may be still good.
it would be insane for the D to single cover the 3wr with no S playing deep.
so the numbers would still be 7 defenders against 5 OL, FB, zeke/morris and a QB that can run.

i dont mean a post or fly pattern.
i thought beasley caught a pass on a quick out?
or he could run a rub route with someone like dez?

The 12 personnel has never worked here. Never. JG likes the concept but sucks at it. He's wasted two 2nd round picks on TE's with no idea how to use them. 2 freaking 2nd round picks when you have a HOF TE who's missed one freakin games in his career!!!! Genius.
MartyB was an excellent blocker. Maybe the best inline blocker the Cowboys have ever had at TE. His lack of success receiving was due to a lack of study/understanding of the scheme.

Thought MartyB did pretty well after he left.
Is that right?

Yes. He later said once he realized that he would not replace Witten as the starter for game 1 of his rookie year, that he didn't put any effort into studying the playbook and tuned out the coaches.

wow, guess the interview did not catch it...
how would he possibly think he would have replaced witten game 1.

He thinks he is the greatest player that has ever lived. If anybody disputes that he will say it's the coaches fault for how they used him.

He will also likey protest the police like Kap. Same mindset.
