For what it was worth, Elliott was easily averaging more than 4 yards per carry until his final five runs, which came when the Rams committed to stopping the run because they knew we were trying to run the clock out. The last sequence for the offense near our goal line after the interception was three straight runs despite the fact that the Rams weren't going to let us run. The play-calls were right and the result was expected since we were mainly trying to burn clock.
Both backs were effective at what they did, but Elliott took it on the chin as far as his YPC goes by being the back they handed it to when the other team knew it was going to be runs.
It would be disingenuous to just look at his average and not take those plays into consideration.
