Fifteen wins is difficult but not impossible. I will say this. Nobody else on our schedule is better than we are. With that said I still think that we lose a few, more than likely in the division because of the familiarity of the teams. Right now if I had to give a number I'd say the Cowboys finish with 11-13 wins.

I disagree with the blanket statement that you will be favored from here on out. Too many variables. Not saying you will or anything like that, but what if you lose to Minny and at Philly? You'll see a lot of people saying, well, every team gets hot for a couple of game streak, and the Boys really haven't played well since week 5. Maybe they just got hot early and now are coming down to earth...

you don't see it because your blue/silver goggles have gotten the best of you (and probably having the lead yesterday for a few seconds).

NY will throttle our secondary in the Meadowlands. Plax will have a 3TD day. In philly TO will drop probably a sure TD and several 1st down plays.

Our margin of error is slim against NFC East opponents and we are a mistake-prone team unfortunately.

Wow, I love how you like to try and bring everyone back down to earth, claiming that everyone has on their homer goggles and such.

How about all of your future predictions regarding the Cowboys? Are you that guy? Really?

Move along...

Remember, we reside in the NFC East. Our inter divisional games are some of the worse in history. A team ranked #1 in the NFC East, can easily lose to the bottom feeders of the NFC East.

If you look back. All the years the Cowboys were bottom feeders, they almost always split with the Commanders. In 92' and 93' Cowboys SuperBowl years, the Cowboys split with the Commanders. In the 95' SuperBowl season, the Commanders actually swept the Cowboys in inter-divisional play!

I think 13-3 is maybe realistic, 12-4 very likely, but I said this last night when it was brought up.

This team has too many weaknesses to be a 15-1 team. We still struggle mentally with a lot of things and are incredibly inconsistent. While I think we will be as talented, if not more, than the rest of the teams on our schedule, there are going to be hiccups.

I agree, I think anything less than 12 wins this season after our start would be a huge dissapointment, especially if the record did not give us a first round bye and home field adv. in the playoffs. We would have to end 6-4 to end up with less than 12 wins and that would be very discouraging for me at this point.

That said, I am just looking at it one game at a time.

We have to get it going better in the first half or it is going to cause another loss down the road real soon. Garrett needs to find out what Romo is best at and use it in the first quarter and get us going. Rollouts, moving the pocket around, whatever it takes, we need to start taking control early!

Even if you are legitimately better than all the teams you play, there will always be an off-game. Where things just aren't clicking and other team is playing hot.

It happened Monday Night against Buffalo but we got away with it.

But I'm sure we will lose a few here and there. Don't know against who though.

saying that the team will sweep the division is a bit of a reach. I'll be content with a 4-2 division record and more realistically, its probably gonna be 3-3. No matter what, NFC-East games are never gimmes.

You expect us to lose three of our next five division games?

you mean intra divisional play. I know what you mean but that history is meaningless just like our what 15 of 16 against the Commanders means nothing anymore.

I hope we have a home playoff game wrapped up before we go to Washington on the last game of the season so as not to have to worry about the game.

one game i'm particularly worried about is the giants game because they will be coming off of a bye week.

I like our schedule though since our short weeks will be against the Jets in week 12, and carolina in week 16 (which gives us an extra day to prepare for washington the last game--if we need it for HFA throughout playoffs)

It looks like we finally bought a break on our schedule, except for having to play the Cheatriots on a short week. In the last several years we have had to play an inordinate number of games against teams coming off their bye weeks.

The Giants have got some very favorable treatment, conversely. They got to play a road game at home against the Saints instead of in a neutral site like San Antonio. This year one of their road games is overseas where the "home" team is also travelling across the ocean and loses their home field advantage.

i say 13-3 our defense and offense are only going to get better as knowledge of the systems increase . Getting Glenn henry and tank wont hurt to much either.

One game at a time for me Wayne. From 1988-1991 that was my mantra to preserve my sanity such as it was. This team has some good stuff. But I am not going to guess wins and losses till January. If our team continues to learn from their mistakes and get better then great. If it takes another year then so be it. I can wait till then. ($

Whatever happened to taking 1 week at a time? Sheez. Enjoy the ride - we've been waiting for this for a LONG time.

If we can just spread the ball around more like the Pats do (Hurd, Austin, Stanback, Fasano, Curtis)...I think 18-1 is definitely possible.

As a fan we don't have to take it one week at a time. We don't have to play so we can look ahead all we want.

Great post Wayne. I agree. This year's nucleus is special. The Pats had to pretty much play an A+ game to beat us. We all know the game was much close than indicated on the scoreboard. I'm looking forward to getting guys like Tank in the rotation, Henry back, Glenn in the mix, and possibly a subtle flip flop at the running back position to help alleviate the pain of these slow starts.

I think that's a very good point.
