My biggest memory of that day was that my wife and I were expecting our first child. Dallas had not been to a Super Bowl since the 1978 season. 14 years. We hadn't won one in 15 years.

I begged my wife not to go into labor.

The scare of the night for me was halftime when the baby started kicking to the beat of Michael Jackson's music. My wife was sure it was the start of contractions.

I was nearly a wreck.

Thankfully she waited a few days to join us.

The Cowboys dominated that day like I have never seen them. It was well worth the wait.

I was a freshman in college that year and nervous as heck before the game. My roommates were serious haters and I was getting worried after the blocked punt and early score by the Bills but then it turned out to probably be jitters by us and once we settled down the rout was on. Halfway through the 4th quarter I was still watching of course and my roommates were in their rooms doing other stuff. I loved it how quiet they got. That was my first Super Bowl experience with the Cowboys. I had waited since the early 80's and was wondering if it would ever happen. When it did I couldn't believe it from 1-15 to the best. What wonderful times those were.

Speaking of the Super Bowl in '78, it's on NFL Network right now. Cowboys/Steelers. What a size difference the game has now. The Steel Curtain looks smaller than the Auburn defensive line. No more than 2 WRs in the formations, and both QBs don't show the mobility that we're used to today.

i was a sophomore in high school. i just thought that it was so cool.:D

Watching with my dad and his friends. I was only 9 at the time. All of my dad's friends was like, they (Buffalo) aren't ready yet. :laugh2:

Pretty awesome. I was young but I remember the player introductions (why can't they bring that back? It was a SB tradition/staple!) and of course Michael Jackson

I saw that game live and will never forget how nervous I was prior to kickoff. I was running to the restroom every 10 minutes having to take a nervous pee.

I was so tense I came close to puking.

The day before the game they had the first NFL experience outside the Rose Bowl. They had a tent with a lot of SB memorabilia.

I saw Lynn Swanns Jersey from SB X and quickly turned my head and walked past it so I wouldn't get any negative thoughts in my head.

It was fun walking around enjoying the atmosphere but I could feel the nervous anticipation starting to build. I couldn't sleep a wink the night before the game.

It's one thing watching the Cowboys on TV but when you watch them live in a SB it's pretty overwhelming when you're a big fan who's been following the team a long time.

I celebrated practically all night after that win. :beer1: :jackpot:

I was 9. That was the tops. Just a beautiful, beautiful game.

I was 47:(. I had been waiting for a long time for a return to the SB and the way the Cowboys dominated that day was just good to be true.

GREAT story. We were expecting our first child as well. I was 27 years old at the time,...........ahhhhh......... life was good. REAL good in fact.

Which for some strange reason makes me think of........." where have you gone Joe Dimaggio...a nation turns its lonely eyes to you....woo hoo hoo" :)

I was 4. I don't remember much other than the player intros when everybody at the bar/party booed the Bills players.

I was 16. Biggest Cowboys fan in my high school and everyone knew it here in Commanders' Country. I knew every player, back ups, the works (nothing changes, LOL). I was sooooo nervous. The big play for me was when Kelly got hit, fumbled into the air and Jimmie Jones caught it for a touchdown! I knew we were going to be the world champions. Something I wasnt sure I would ever experience. Once the final minutes began to tick down and the cameras were showing the joy on our boys faces on the sidelines, I shed a tear or two for them and for all us fans who stuck with them.
My high school GF at the time looked at me and was like..."Are you really crying?? You don't cry over anything!" I was like..."It's the Dallas Cowboys and they are now the World Champions, I can cry joy for that!"
What an awesome, awesome experience to live through.

I was 23 and obviously had waited most of my life for that day.

I actually wasn't all that nervous. In fact I can't remember being more confident in a big game since the 81 Championship Game(wrong).

But all my nerves and demons were excorcised two weeks earlier in Candlestick.
That was my out of body, I can't believe this was happening moment.

For SB XXVII I just took a very logical approach that we were simply too good for them and wouldn't be denied.

I have to tell you, the two weeks after the NFC Championship game and two weeks after that SB win, was the most satisfying time I had as a Cowboy fan living in Philly.

The hate for all things Cowboy is strong in Philly. The thought of the Dallas Cowboys actually winning a blanker blanking Super Bowl was to much to much to bare for your average eagle fan.

Now you pile ME on top of that. The ball breaking that month was legendary.:laugh2:
I reconnected with more "friends" that month than I did my first month on Facebook.

Great story. I myself can only remember sheading a tear on two occasions. And that was for the 81 and 92 Cowboys.

For me and I think a lot of fans my age, there's a couple things that will always stand out for that team.
  • We had to wait so long between SBs and I think any fan our age really had their fandom challenged.
  • So many of the players on that team were our age. Emmitt and I both graduated highschool in 1987. All the key players Aikman, Irvin, Norton, Maryland, Tolbert, K Smith, E. Williams, Lett, Woodson and on and on and on. All these guys were 21-26 years old.

My first son was born on the day of Super Bowl XXX. He was smart and made sure that he was born early enough that he could watch the game, instead of interrupting it.

My situation was very similar, except I was a Junior in college at the time.
