I'm a Millennial who grew up abroad and missed out on almost all 1990s American sports events.

Which commanded greater public attention back then: the NBA Bulls dynasty or NFL Cowboys dynasty? I imagine it would have been hard for Dallas to top Chicago in that attention regard, having won only three titles to the Bulls' six.

Late 90s Bulls because of the late 90s boom in America and globally.

The first three-peat bulls are far superior to the second run but the second run gets the love.

BJ Armstrong is FAR superior to Steve Kerr but Kerr makes TLD poster.

I even believe Horace Grant is better than Rodman. And I like Rodman

But the late 90s Bulls won a lot of games , in an expansion time (Toronto and Vancouver), and a time in which other Jordan contemporaries were aging.

Bulls winning 67 in 1992 is more impressive than Bulls winning 72 in 1996. My opinion

The Cowboys came into the 90s slapping teams and stealing their lunch money. What's not to love? A few movies were made about underdogs coming up against teams in the Cowboys' colors. They'd be pip squeaks against young Tyron Smiths, Travis Fredricks and Zach Martins. The big bad team would have a slicked up quarterback and young Carl Lewises for receivers. How the underdogs won is Hollywood BS.

I prefer the NFL over NBA. The Bulls made a lot of noise during that time and even as players in the Olympics. I can't give an unbiased opinion.

I don’t care for basketball but MJ is probably the single greatest/influential athlete of my lifetime and even though the NFL trumps the NBA I have to go with the Bulls in this case.

While the Cowboys were the most popular NFL team, the Bulls were the most popular sports team. The Cowboys were mega stars but the Bulls popularity was just ungodly.

I just couldn't disagree more. BJ Armstrong should be compared to Ron Harper, Paxson and Kerr is more of a comp. And I don't think Rodman vs Grant is even close.

Like some have said MJ was easily the biggest sports star in the world. When the Bulls traveled abroad it what madness. Also the Dream Team was huge and had a big influence on basketball worldwide. Plus 6 championships showed more longevity than 3. If MJ didn't sit out they likely could have won 8 in a row.

Bulls.
Used to see Poeple wearing Bulls gear all over the place here in the Seattle area during the Jordan years. Since he retired I’ve see exactly one person wearing Bulls gear since then.

Bulls.
Dallas was a monster story in the 70s, hung around through most of the 80s and we got tired head.
Early 90s revived America's Team to be sure.

But Jordan and the Bulls basically invented SportsCenter.
People watched it 4 and 5 times on loops to see their highlights.

With the amount of games they had they were coming to town and selling out every stadium but doing it 40+ times a year.

Horace Grant had more shooting/scoring capability than Rodman.

But there is no universe in which Grant was a better player.

In hindsight, it is the Bulls but at that time, NFL popularity reigned supreme over the NBA, and the Cowboys were the hottest NFL team in the first half of the '90s. But I give credit to the Bulls for winning 6 titles in that decade.

Early part of the 90s was Dallas, middle of the decade was the bulls and the end of the decade was the Yankees.

Never have their ever been more front runners than in the 90's with the bulls. I've never heard of a bulls fan before jordan and I have never met one since he retired.

For me it was Dallas and it is not even close. NFL is ALWAYS more popular in America than NBA or MLB. So if someone could post TV viewership numbers that watch a Cowboy game VS a Bulls game, you would see the immense difference. Just wait and see when Dallas returns to the SB.

Jordan was a bigger deal than both the Cowboys and the Bulls. His world wide reach back then compares to the world wide reach of the NFL today. You can have gone around the world back then selling two posters. One of Aikman, Emmitt, and Irvin in uniform vs Jordan in uniform. You would've easily sold way more Jordan posters than Cowboy posters.

Jordan is the single most polarizing athlete in the world. And that's why he is his own brand.

Quit spreading falsehoods. The bulls got smacked by the magic.

Rockets ftw

I say Dallas but Jordan took precedent over both the Cowboys and the Bulls.
There’s the answer .

Jordan was the most iconic athlete of that era and Bulls winning three-peats twice was the biggest story of the 90’s decade in sports.

The Bulls reign was twice as long. They were the bigger cultural and worldwide phenomenon.
There is no Air Emmitt. Or Aikman brand.

Dallas was massive, truly massive but they won those titles over a 4 year stretch then lost Irvin and Aikman.
The shorter shelf life for NFL players comes into play.

And the NBA is a far bigger league world wide then the NFL tho the NFL always rules here at home.
