I was thinking today if a team has ever had the 1st and the last pick in the first round in the same year. Crazy, but it could happen to us next year if things were to break right.

i will have to check and see, not that i know of offhand,

but i am wishing that too, we have the 1st overall pick and the 32nd, that there are 2 top QBS coming out, and we can trade down a few spots, still get mcfadden, get an extra 2nd or 3rd for trading down one spot or two, then we will have
# 1 overall, trade down to 2nd or 3rd overall get McFadden
# 32 get a good wr, or with the extra 2nd or 3rd move up and get a super young wr
# 2, our # 2 and our # 3, we trade both of those, maybe one of them to get a # 1 the following year, and we use both of them to trade up and get another super player in lower first round, or second round, that way we will have 3 impact players, McFadden, Impact WR, & impact linebacker or DL or S

whoa whoa easy boys... lets finish lusting over our new picks still

It has never happened. Of course 1st and 32nd is only 4 years old, given Houston joined the league in 2002.

I absolutely love your optimism. ;)

:lmao2: funny, I actually thought the same over the weekend.......we are going to be Champions therefore, 32 is a done deal, however, I am afraid Cleveland will win just enough to finish with the 2nd overall pk.

I don't recall ever slipping into a pleasure-induced coma before.

But the combination of winning the Super Bowl next February and Cleveland sucking enough to where we get the #1 overall pick next April and then using it to select Darren McFadden just might do the trick.

I truly believe this scenario would be too much for me to stomach as well.

Just a question here, is it plausible to trade your #1 pick to get the 2nd pick? Obviously, if you're willing to trade, you don't want the guy that the team w/ the second pick wants, so why would they bother trading up?

I had a thought very similar to this on Saturday night, but I was wondering whether anyone had done a deal like the Cowboys had (#1 this year for someone else's #1 next year plus picks) AND THEN had that #1 pick the following year turn out to be the #1 OVERALL pick in the draft.

Of course, I ask the question knowing the answer, but wouldn't it be wild!? I would, of course, take the 32nd pick happily regardless of where the Browns finish. Also ask the question Seinfeld esque....Why not us????

So it should be re-asked... 1st and last pick in history?

In 1947 the Bears had the 1st overall pick and the last of the 1st round (#11).

In 1952 the Rams had the 1st overall and the last of the 1st round (#13).

In 1966 the Falcons had the 1st overall and the last of the 1st round (#16).

In 1982 the Patriots had the 1st overall and the last of the 1st round (#27).
