Watching you over the last 17+ years I feel like your turning into a combination of Al Davis and George Steinbrenner.

He'll probably take that as a compliment.

Does anyone on the team?

I know there has to be a couple. Adam freaks me out a little at times so I figure he'd be someone.
Yes. Two that I know of.

write Jerrah's response:

Dear fan:

Thank you for your concerns. Rest assure that we are doing everything possible not to let this happen again. Wade Philips, his staff, as well as the entire front office will work tirelessly this offseason to bring back the Dallas Cowboys to where they rightfully belong. It's what fans like you deserve. Please keep up your support as we'll be needing it for years to come.

Sincerely:

J.W.Jones.
Owner/President

Ps: We have Texas Stadium chairs and customized pavers available at
www.dallascowboys.com.

My reply:

Dear Mr. Jones:

Thank you for the time it took your staff to print out your canned response and stamped signature. While I appreciate your words, your actions do not reflect the change that I feel is necessary to return the organization to glory. Until your actions begin to mirror your words, please know that my dollars will stay in my pocket.

Sincerely,

Mesaholic

Thanks, Hostile. If you were to forward this to Mr. Jones, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. :laugh2:
PM me your name. I don't care if it's fake or not. Without a name attached it will never see him. Might not anyway.

PM sent, Hostile.

Thanks, not that I have any real expectation that he will read it (but you never know).

Wonder what a full page ad in the DMN costs? Or the USA Today?Instead of chipping in for a bunch of pavers, chip in for an ad.

This thread is bringing some good laughs after the horrible season.
Keep up the humor.

Even if he did I doubt it would make a huge impact. I'm not saying Jerry doesn't care, because he does. In fact he cares a lot. The guy never stops trying to find ways to make this team better. He literally works all the time. I just doubt he will agree with the thoughts expressed. As a matter of recall he says that one of the reasons he feels he is successful as the GM is because he has more on the line than other GMs do. He makes no salary like they would. His livelihood is tied to the success of the team.

Now that's a fund I would contribute to.

If nothing else you know the national media would pick up on it and it would be a huge embarrassment to Jerry with the fans calling him out as a failure in his role as GM. With the new stadium on the horizon he would look like a fool keeping the status quo.

The problem is we couldn't agree on the message in the ad.
Otherwise I could/would organize it.

Well...wouldn't any other GM's livelihood be tied to the success of the team? I would argue that he has less on the line because he can't be fired for making bad decisions and unlike a lot of guys, he can quit tomorrow and he's still set for life (as are his kids and grandkids). I don't doubt at all that he cares. His judgment, however, in these matters is affected by something, perhaps ego but maybe its stubborness or some combination thereof.

Oh...and I don't doubt that my letter will have little impact. But I can see that a letter writing campaign and merch/ticket boycott will ruffle some feathers and draw adverse media attention, if nothing else, and send the message that the hard core fans are fed up. Losing is hard to tolerate. But being a team of gutless losing egotistical thugs (with the exception of a few) is intolerable.

Not really the same.

I don't think his judgment on football matters is lacking. I simply disagree with people on that. We are not in cap hell, we are drafting very well, we have made some good trades. The talent is assembled. It wasn't by throwing darts. Homework had to have been done. No one is that lucky.
