Studied all 15 of Tavon Austin's TDs from 2012. 14 of 15 would've counted in a 2 hand touch league. Defenders can't touch him! #Dynamic!

I have been on this board since 2004, I have never touted drafting a WV Mountaineer.

Even though I have been high on several, I just didn't know how they would do in the NFL.

But I am going out on a limb now, .. if Tavon is there at #18, and we pass on him I will be sick.

He is special, .. very special.

He will make an immediate impact on offense, kick-offs, and punts for some team.

Not only is he great with the ball in his hands, he is clutch. He just seems to come up with big plays right when you need one.

He would look great with a star on his helmet, .. and all of you would love him.

Fair question, probably won't get a fair response.

I like Vaccaro a lot, would be pumped to grab him in the first.

I understand the concerns when it comes to him not causing a ton of turnovers in college, but I think a lot of that comes from the system he played in and the teams he played against. I think he's going to be a great NFL safety.

This makes no sense. I've watched him play his entire career against spread offenses week after week, that throw every down. IMO he's a 2nd rounder, maybe, or worse.

Never been impressed by him, and quite frankly I was shocked to find out this year that he's the top safety coming out.

Sheldon Richardson -

The game tape stills says he is a dynamic interior rush presence with exceptional quickness into the gaps, and that makes him awfully appealing to Monte Kiffin. The new Dallas DC built a Super Bowl champion defense around a player eerily similar to Richardson in build and style, Warren Sapp.

Man I wouldn't mind him but ONLY if the two guards are gone. We need to make this offense a juggernaut again!

Spread offenses throw to the areas where the defense is weakest. The object of a spread is to get a mismatch and exploit it. Is it not possible that they simply through away from him? Plus, spread offenses get rid of the ball quickly, which means its very difficult for DBs, especially safeties to get INTs.

Yea, I get it to, but the way he was used in college isn't a style that will result in a lot of turnovers.

Here's what my list would look like:

Richardson
Warmack
Cooper
Austin
Fluker

I think all of these guys have potential to be elite. Vaccaro, to me, is JAG

Vaccaro is unlikely to cause turnovers in the pros if he did not in college. And that is the main reason we should not use a 1st on him.

You can talk all you want about systems and use and such- bottom line is that he did not cause turnovers.

you may be right, but if how he was used translates to the pros, he would still be worth a first.

If a reciever is a great value, i'd consider it as early as round 3. But if we take a wr in round 1, I may literally not watch a Cowboys game till serious changes are made.

I agree in that taking a WR in round in round one would be a mistake. The thing is Tavon Austin isn't just your typical WR. He's a play maker with rare God given ability.

In Tavon Austin you'd be getting a WR, a KR, PR, and a guy who could line up in the backfield. If it's 3rda and goal from the 1, just pitch it to Tavon wide. No one will beat him to the edge. Or, line him up in the slot and run him across the formation and do that little touch pass WVU uses so well.

Bottom line is Tavon would be great value at #18 because of his versatility and his immense play making ability. Think back to all the close games the Cowboys have lost the last couple of years and tell me if Austin wouldn't have made a difference.

He is very special, .. different than anyone I have ever seen.

I saw him do things I have never seen, and I have been watching football since the early 60's.

Some team will get this impact player, .. maybe we won't get him, .. but if we do have the chance, and pass on him we will regret it.
