1st round trade down options

I do NOT want to see a trade down, if anything trade up and get a blue chip prospect like Sewell or Pitts even if not a position of need. We have TEN picks already and we do NOT have ten roster spots. I don’t want to see another 2009 draft where we take volume over quality and end up with nothing to show for it a year later. IMO there is quite a drop off in talent starting around pick 10 and Id hope we can fill needs with the other NINE picks.

There will be blue chip prospects in the 20's like Nick Bolton and Richie Grant. This draft will have a bunch of great players that are drafted after pick 20.

Agree with that but by this team?

The one guy I love at 10 is Pitts. If he's not there we need to trade down and look to add a 2nd or a 3rd rounder.
Guys I love between 12-20 are Baremore, Farley, Zaven Collins, Surtain
Guys I like between 20-30 are Ojulari, Horn, Paye, Phillips
Guys that scare me in the first round are Parsons, LB from Notre Dame(bias reasons) and the DE from Mia
Guys I like in the second round McNeil, Bolton, Moehrig, Stokes, Dickerson, Jenkins, Holland
I doubt Surtain and Farley both will be available even at 10

I say we trade down from 10 AND use our mid-round ammo to trade back up into the bottom of the first or second (or third, even). Take as many chances as possible in the Top 100. We don't need more backups.

I love Bolton as the one true MLB.

I keep coming back to this trade down option. I think trading down to pick up an extra mid-2nd round pick may make some sense. If they can pick up Moehrig later in the first, get an extra second to take a guy like Stokes they get better on defense. Moehrig will be a good safety. Stokes or even Samuel Jr, will be decent CBs. And they still would have a 2nd 2nd round pick to take a DT or even an offensive tackle is they want to shore up that spot to.

It will take more than their #10 pick to get this done, but so what if they trade away their 3rd round comp pick to pick up an extra 2 and probably a 6 as well.

Pitts being there at 10 depends really on the trades that go down on draft day for QBs and OL guys. We could also see 2 WR go in top 10 so there is a chance he is there but going to be crazy hype about what is going to happen over next 4 weeks plus.
Pitts might be there...but there's a pretty good chance that the first 9 picks are, in no particular order:

Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance, Chase, Waddle, Pitts, Sewell, Smith

So you could see 3 WR AND Pitts all go before 10.
