2/1- Who's Your Pick

If we draft a first-round OT, then I'd look to trade Steele. I think we'd get something for a starting RT. It might not be much because of his contract, but his future team could renegotiate his contract. I could see us getting a fourth-round pick for him. His play improved the second half of the season and starting tackles aren't easy to find.
His pass blocking didn't improve. That's what wins games in the playoffs. His run blocking isn't enough to cover for his pass blocking. He has to go

The problem is Steele is being paid like a top end right tackle. I don’t see anyone trading for that. Well, maybe Washington they have money.

I would plan to have him compete with Guyton at RT. If he loses, then he goes.

I don't want to spend another high pick on an OL ... yet. We've got multiple young players, and I'd like to give them a chance to show what they can do before we address the line. I feel like we've got players who can compete at each spot.

There are a couple of low-cost FA moves I wouldn't mind, but not at the expense of other positions of greater need.

His $13.25 million base can easily be restructured into mostly bonus to lower him to less than $10 million next year.

I can't help but see jalen hurts tackles and then see us throw Guyton or Asimov's Richard's out there exoectinh to be contenders. But we'll see

Yeah, and they may feel like they are better off spending that first-round pick on a tackle. I'd just rather see first while we fix other areas of need. We may be back to addressing it the next year if they fail. I like what I've seen from Richards, though, and Guyton has the talent and just needs to get his technique up to speed.

My "ideal" lineup would be Richards-Smith-Beebe-Bass-Guyton, but I could see Smith-Bass-Hoffman-Beebe-Guyton, Guyton-Smith-Beebe-Hoffman-Steele, etc. We have options, but it's hard to say if any of them are great. I just think they are at least good enough compared to what we have at other spots.

Why would he do that for the Cowboys to trade him. Steele would be better off being released. A team like Washington would pay him.
