I would trade down 5 spots or so, and still pick up one of these guys-- if possible (takes two to trade). If I couldn't trade down, this is my order I would take them on 2/3/25.

Will Johnson and it's not close. I think he'll be making Pro Bowls by his 2nd or 3rd season.

If Johnson was unavailable, and say Jeanty dropped in the re-shuffle, I would probably draft Green or Pearce. You could sell me on either. Nolan is absolutely in play too.

I'm not bothering with Josh Simmons. We have gambled on so many of those injury rehab candidates, and they've come back to bite us every time. The only one I can remember who worked out is Sean Lee, and it's not like he overcame the injury bug either.

I could swear I read patella tendon a while ago. but I am not 100% positive.

Lance just took Nolen for the Cowboys in his first mock draft. Sounds good to me, we've needed a better interior pass rush for a long time.

Overview​

Nolen has NFL-starting size but won’t blow you away with his physical traits. However, he gains quick advantages with his explosiveness into contact and ability to beat up blockers when singled up. He has the athletic talent to play into gaps but needs to play with better hands to keep himself clean at the point of attack. He wins as a rusher with his athleticism and play strength, and doesn’t need to be schemed for. The pass rush still requires refinement, but he already flashes quick-win moves that foreshadow good pressure and sack production as a pro. Nolen’s blend of explosiveness and playmaking talent create high upside as a three-down interior lineman.

Deone Walker. What are your thoughts?

I think he was more productive last year than this year. I think he has a huge ceiling, but huge bust possibility as well. I think he plays more like a 3T than his size which says he is a 1T. I think from what I have seen of him, he plays too high, and allows leverage against him way too often.

With that said, if he is available in the 3rd or 4th, I think Dallas should draft him. If he can be coached to play a little lower, and get his feet set, he could easily be a 3 down player. Right now, I see him as a pass rush specialist who has elite size, even speed for the size, but can't anchor.

I value Vochs opinion on oline. If he says Simmons is a guy then I'd take him too. He fits into my criteria to fix this team as much as you can and maximize the qb.

Yea…Bryce has gotten better but they’re in dire need of more weapons.

I’m an OM fan as long as a Cowboys fan. I’m pulling for him to go low 2…high 3. I think McCord goes ahead of him. I think Ward is a mistake at 2 but then again I didn’t think Daniel’s would have the impact he’s had in Washington. I think when his legs go, he’s done.

Broaddus was just tossing out a scenario. He and Voch think Simmons is a 10 year starter at left tackle. Guys like Simmons and Will Johnson have to be taken seriously at 12 because of the positions they play. Plus who would really be opposed to moving on from Steele or getting another blue chip player in the secondary.

If we draft a first-round OT, then I'd look to trade Steele. I think we'd get something for a starting RT. It might not be much because of his contract, but his future team could renegotiate his contract. I could see us getting a fourth-round pick for him. His play improved the second half of the season and starting tackles aren't easy to find.
