2 losses to two undefeated teams...

I hope the team is not content with losing ever.

But as a coach and as a team, you have to find the positives to build on. You have to exploit your strengths, and correct your weaknesses. You have to put it all behind you and find a reason to move forward and get ready for the next contest.

Never be content with a loss, but learn from them and strive to get better is all you can do.

As a team and as a coach you can't get down on yourself, you can't get discourged, you can't let up.

You have to find the positives to build on and get back into the fight.

Being 2-2 is not a good feeling, but knowing that you had 3-1 or 4-0 in your grasp is something to build on.

We'll see what happens moving forward, I hope the team and the coaches don't think like you do.

I agree. Teams can't afford to stand around reliving a win and you sure as hell can't hold your head down to longer after a loss. You put both behind you and get ready for the next week. You do look to find the positives from the games and to see where mistakes were made and try to work on those things to improve. That is the way you have to work in sports win or lose move on which is why every team out there talks about the 24 hour rule

I don't think there is any question about that. A TD on that drive likely seals the deal for us.

You say don't think there is any question then you say likely. Only reason I say you never know because sports is not a script in a movie or sitcome you never know what would have happened. Ask a Houston Oiler fan with a 31 point lead over Buffalo. :laugh2: It is not over until it is over. That TD very well could have taken the wind right out of their sails but we will never know.

I have never been one for moral victories, but when you stand back and look at the big picture, .. there is cause for hope.

True, we have many things to work on and improve on, (who doesn't) but we have lost two games, to two undefeated teams, .. literally on the last play of both games.

We need to stop beating ourselves.

Yea and we have won two games against winless teams. So what gives?

Sounds like Wade with his typical Monday Pressy...That's great advice for a team that learns from it's mistakes...This team apparently learns to make new mistakes...And nowhere have I suggested the team pack it in...Just that looking for excuses has long been part of the problem in Big D and reading how they lost to two undefeated teams somehow lessens the blow?...Not in my book.

There are problems on the team...Some of them are new ones and some of them were already there before the season began...The answers to these problems are not easy ones and aren't simply a case of 'sucking it up' etc.

We are what we are, ... 2-2.

Yes our wins were against bad teams, but we did what we had to do, ... one we won by 13 and one by 14.

The losses were much closer, down to the last play.

So we go back and see what we do well and what we do poorly, try to fix it and get ready for the Chiefs.

We need to string a few wins together.

If you have any other valid suggestions, .. let's hear'em.

I don't think anyone is looking for excuses or giving them.

Wasn't the fact that the two losses were against undefeated teams cited as some way to look on the brightside of things?

In a way yes. It is a way to tell your team not all is lost and we can regroup it is not as if Dallas is getting their butts kicked up and down the field. It does not take the hurt away but a coach can't allow the team to wallow in self pity. For me I'm disappointed that we are 2-2 and have not looked great in any of the games I see good things we have done in these games and clearly see mistakes that have been made in these games but still think this team can and will put it together.

we're 2-2, mediocre record, mediocre team. 9-7 and no playoffs will be about it.

We aren't even in the conversation for a playoff spot at the moment. We are the 3rd best team in a division of 4. NY Giants, Eagles, Vikings, Saints are all better than we are, much better. in fact. San Fran, Atlanta, Green Bay, Chicago are all probably better or at the very least as good as we are. Top it off with the fact that we have the worst coaching staff out of any of those teams and I can't see us going anywhere higher than 8-8 and out of the playoffs. That is of course after only 4 games! :D

That's all I'm saying.

If we had lost 27-10 to a 1-3 team, or 38-14 to a 2-2 team I would be taking a whole different approach as a fan.

But even though we are 2-2, I see that probably if one play in either game goes our way we could be 3-1 or 4-0.

Whether that play was one where we did or didn't do something, or a blown call by a ref.

Do we have things to work on? - Absolutely!

I think we can correct some things and get better, but I'm not saying that we will necessarily.

I do know that it is way too early to throw in the towel.

If a golfer bogeys two of the first 4 holes, he doesn't give up.
You never know what is going to happen on the back nine, .. with your game or the other guys.

That is how I view it as well. When I played orginazed sport I never gave up, in activies I play today such as golf I don't let a couple bad hole destroy my overall game.

You shake it off and you move forward there is nothing you can do to change what has already taken place you can only change what you are going to do. whether that is the next game or the next play

There are some positives with this team that they can build on and yes there are negitives that they need to continue to work on to improve. If they do that they have a good oppertunity to get right back into the thick of things if they do not clean up mistakes they will continue to struggle.
