Matthews did as well. If he doesn't recognize the "smoke" and charge right at Romo, Tony sets his feet and most likely throws a strike to Austin, who is then off to the races.

And even the 3 GB defenders right in front of him not withstanding, anyone who thinks Romo is gaining 20 yards on a scramble ever again is smoking something.

He wouldn't even have made it back to where the linemen where. Maybe he picks up 6 yards from his current spot but loses 4 overall because the line is far upfield after he's made his move against Matthews.

Romo should have run he had at least 10 yards in front of him

Not when you see it from the endzone camera. There were three Packers bearing down on him. Might have had a couple, but no more. Needed to set his feet and not just sling it. Thing is, from the endzone angle, the OL was doing there job, each man had a hat on a hat and was driving them back. If he hands off to Murray, he gets at least four yards before he's touched, most likely by a safety.

There are many more.

Scandrick had an easy interception thrown right to him in the endzone and he didn't catch it and it was a touchdown. Shields makes an incredible interception catching up to Austin and diving however.

Romo threw a perfect pass to Dez in the end zone but as babe said on the broadcast Dez slowed down for some reason and then couldn't catch up. We kicked a field goal.

Lots of reasons and the only one that matters is right below this sentence.

Yes, I blame Romo. He absolutely missed some throws he needed to make for a team that can't afford any missed opportunities. He had Dez a couple of times behind the defense and didn't connect.

But I also blame the officials, for not calling pass interference when Witten was face-guarded. (I'll give them a little slack for not calling the false start on Free.)

I definitely blame the entire defense, but special consideration goes to Carr for dropping an easier interception than Shields made and Scandrick for not simply knocking the ball away in the end zone.

I blame Escobar for dropping a pass in the end zone that hit him in the hands.

I blame Dez for, after doing a great job of going up to make a play on the ball, also dropping one that should have been caught.

I blame the coaches for not running the ball late when the running game was doing so well (but can't blame them for not trusting the defense enough to just go possible three-and-out).

I'm sure there's more blame to go around in another game where Dallas comes up inches short when it should have won by a mile.

5 drives that would have "iced the game".
1. Defense forces a punt.
2. Defense forces a punt.
3. Defense forces a punt.
4. Defense forces a punt.
5. Defense forces a punt.

Romo should have run he had at least 10 yards in front of him

That part of his game has been missing for years. Too bad, because there were a few occasions when he could have rushed up the middle for at least 5 yards to a decent gain.

It's sad that Wades one playoff victory might end up being the height of Jerry's football accomplishments without Jimmy's influence.

Orlando Scandrick in the endzone is one that sticks out to me also.
this is the one that sticks out to me along with romo's final underthrow to dez who had 3-4 ft on his defender. scandrick had a chance to stop all of the packers momentum but he whiffed.

Eh there's so many plays you could do this with every time we take an L; Football is the ultimate "hindsight is 20/20" game.

For what it's worth, my opinion is if the defense could've just gotten one stop, or one takeaway during GB's 2nd half comeback it would've probably kept them from getting the lead. We steal one or two of those possessions from them I just don't think they have enough time to come back.

There's plenty of blame to go around for this loss, I just find it difficult to not put more blame on the defense when they gave up what, 5 touchdowns in the 2nd half? We should never lose a game where we had a 23 point lead at one point, and scored over 30.
