Even if Dak was horrible last night he was coming back next year. Can't get out of that contract next year either way. McCarthy would have been on the hot seat for sure. Glad we don't have to talk about either one but before we get all excited over a wild card win and call these guys great, winning multiple playoff games in one year is the goal and how they should be judged. Do something a Dallas Cowboys team hasn't done since January of 1996 and that's get to an NFC championship game.

Some won't like it, but you're correct on both counts.

I still have questions about both of them, hoping for positive answers in coming weeks, but they're not going anywhere.
Big Mike is a good coach... I dont get all the hate... Same folks that hate on LVE and A. Brown, but right when they went down this team had problems. Fans are a fickle bunch.

Congratulations to Dak are in order for a performance that at least equaled or surpassed any performance that he's had during his career. Fortunately, his pass protection was solid enough to allow such a performance to be forthcomiing. Jerry, himself, went above and beyond his usual declarations, in that he resisted any consideration whatsoever to suggest Dak was in any danger of his starting status being in jeopardy. McCarthy solidified and likely, emphatically did so, to ensure his expertise was sufficiently respected. His player preparation was obviously excellent in its nature for a playoff game.

I mean someone who could actually start. Cooper Rush ain’t it.
Unless they strike it lucky picking a QB in the 4th or 5th round, who surprisingly wows everyone in TC and preseason, they won't intentionally draft a starting quality QB in this draft or next. Jmo.

One other thing about how good the boys looked last night: Tampa Bay just isn't a very good team. San Fran is.

1) Is Mike McCarthy going to be the Head Coach next year?

Yes. No way he's fired now. That was a well coached and prepared team tonight. No turnovers and hardly any penalties. Even if the 49ers crush Dallas next week, Mike is going to be the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys Football Team in the 2023 season. Unless he retires of course.

2) Is Dak going anywhere anytime soon?

Absolutely not. I was under the belief, that if he played poorly tonight and the Cowboys lost, it would mean that the 2023 season was going to be his last as the QB for the Cowboys.

With his performance tonight, I would not be surprised at all if he and the front office work on an extension this offseason. Only Dak's 2nd playoff victory, but he's been great in the playoffs even if his record doesn't indicate that.

Dak is the commander of this team and that's not changing in the next couple of years for sure now.
True and true

But I really didn't see either of them not being here next year anyway.

Much harder question.

Will JJ cut Zeke?
Will JJ shell out money for Pollard?
Will JJ resign Shultz?

If this team wins the SB then I think JJ cuts Zeke and will not resign either Pollar or Shultz.
If this team gets to NFC championship, then JJ will sign Pollard.....possibly Shultz (<50%) and cut Zeke.

Yup. Mike is a good coach and Dak is a good QB.

Fans that just blame the QB and / or Coach usually just don’t understand football and are taking the easy way out.
