And like he already pointed out, Jerry claims he has two offers to trade down for a second and a first next year.\

And I hate his scenario, its full of gambles, taking them way higher than needed. Walter Thomas is an intriguing player but he isn't the only one like that, there is also LaRon Harris who has a similar bio/physical ability and has actually gotten himself in better shape. Regardless these guys should be late rounders or free agents. Bush is going to drop with his injury problems and Dallas isn't taking a qb in the second round, let alone Stanton.

I understand your concerns...i am taking guys a bit higher than they are projected...

BTW, I don't care for Stanton but he will not be available late in the 3rd and as I recall there was some connection between Stanton and the Cowboys within the last few weeks...

Thats the same stuff they did with Larry Lacewell that gave us bust after bust. I hope they have learned better from those years. I haven't heard any connection with Stanton, and Jerry has also said that they won't take a qb early since they believe Romo is their long term answer. Third is really the earliest and I really doubt that happens.

Jerry said that he could do one of the trade down deals now, I really don't understand DKs point or lack of one.

i use mute. It makes life funner :)

moot just sounds so, uggg, mute sounds much cooler
They aren't interchangable though. So, when you use the wrong word it doesn't sound cool at all. Here's another cliche' with a wrong word.

Just food for throughout.

Doesn't work does it? Neither does mute for moot.

Agree, that sounds like Jerry's pre-Parcells drafts which were full of talented guys who were big risks -- Larrimore, Stewart, Blade, Ross, and Bryant come to mind...

An interesting scenario which I think is pretty feasible. It covers most of our bases for this year but gives us an opportunity to have really special players for next year:

If, of course there is no way to move up for AD...

1. Take one of Jerry's opportunities to trade down...acquire what should be at worst a mid round first next year (don't want a trade with San Diego as they will probably be picking no earlier than 25th or so...).

2. Sidney Rice with our first #2 - potential gamebreaker with a little added strength
3. Drew Stanton with our second #2 - 2 years of development could be a pro bowl type qb if Romo falters or is injured...
4. Michael Bush with our #3 - anyone who saw him before his injury knows he is comparable to the best backs chosen in recent years...
5. Trade back up into round 3, draft Walter Thomas (DT)...surrounded by our mature character guys on D, this guy could develop into Leon Lett version 2.0. ( i know this is higher than he is projected, but i want to be certain to get him...)
6. With remaining picks this year, pick up C & CB (yes, I basically stand pat at FS unless something drops out of the sky)

7. Next year we have an opportunity to move to the top of the draft for a playmaker....

This would set us at major positions for the next 8 years...
that sounds good man hopefully it will work that way

The thing here is...only Thomas is a gamble. The others are sound...

Rice is solid, just needs to get stronger...
Stanton...well, I could do without Stanton, but was trying to look at Rea...err..reality.
Bishop is not a risk - the only reason he is not a first rounder is his present health...
Thomas is a risk, but the risk reward looks pretty good to me...

And all this is based on the condition of having two number ones next year...
