Man, I really didn't want to post this, as we know how it will go.
So can we get well thought out intelligent answers in this thread?

Again, some very good answers from all the writers. Mickey actually has a really good point in his write up.

As one pointed out, remember he was in the conversation in 2020 before his injury.

Give Dak a great Oline like some of these elite QB's and he will be in the conversation.

There could be opportunities if some factors line up around him as well, but that's not what some fane prefer to happen.

A couple observations from reading this.

Two of these guys are talking up Dak as a possible MVP after 4 games in 2020, and 6 games in 2021. WAY to early to start talking about MVP status.

As far as Mickey goes... he says "So, look at it this way, these changes in the offense and the acquisition of Brandin Cooks must improve receiver production, and in turn, that will improve Dak's performance."

Couldn't you argue that Cooks would be the MVP in this scenario?

MVP is too heavily weighted towards the QB position and if a QB does deserve it, it should go to the guy who does the most with the least rather than the guy who takes the best advantage of having among the best supporting cast.

It should go to the best player on the best team IMO. I can’t penalize Jalen Hurts because his GM built a good team around him. I do wish other positions could get more recognition as MVP but it’s tough with how much the QB does.

Last year's line was only average....so it wasn't nearly as good as some that Dak has had. No doubt

However....On average, for their whole careers, few QBs in NFL history have enjoyed better line play than Dak has.

He's never had a year with an awful line and has many years with top 10 or top 5 lines

Good line play is so subjective to me. Because when I watch the greats play they typically have clean pockets. I don’t remember Brady having a bad like or Brees or Big Ben. I know Burrows offensive line is considered bad but I’ve seen far worse.

Not so sure about most of Ben's lines

Brady always had solid lines though rarely the best overall. He notoriously siphoned some of his salary to the oline and defense.
But to be fair, if you get the ball out in under 2 seconds, the pocket is almost always going to look clean

As a big Dak fan and even a bigger Cowboys fan, I would love to see him win the MVP, OPOTY and the SB trophy, but I only see him winning the SB trophy under this new offensive system. Dak might be the NFL's Manu Ginobili under this system. Manu sacrificed winning more awards by agreeing to come off the bench. The dude went to only TWO All-Star games and won ONE 6th Man of the year award. Tim Duncan will tell you he was the heart and soul of that great Spurs team. It's a travesty he didn't get the recognition he deserved, but when you put the team first, that's what can happen.

Any Cyberball 2072 fans here? We will look more like the Pheonix Flash instead of the San Diego Machine. Meaning, we will have a balanced attack instead of a pass happy offense. That's what I'm hoping for. If we go that route, which it looks like it could happen, Dak won't put up huge numbers this year. 25 td's - 5 ints - 3,500 yards with a 70-PCT, and a SB trophy.

GO COWBOYS!!

You actually have to be at least a top 3 QB to be in the MVP discussion. Does anyone think Dak is top 3 versus his peers? And if he isn't then what magical incantation could possibly change that this far into his career?

I actually don’t even care if he’s an MVP during the regular season

Just want him to play his absolute best ( the best version of Dak) during the playoffs and string at least 3 wins together.

He can’t do it by himself but he absolutely cannot be the reason we lose, which means not turning over the ball multiple times and not being held to just 1 Touchdown in a game.

logical, practical, and more importantly, said without name calling and insults……can his personal supporters do the same when discussing him?

That’s my point though. It’s tough to gauge how good an offensive line simply on stats because it could be anything. Big Ben to me use to hold on to that ball for forever.

It really is a shame that season was cut short. Although the defense wasn't up to the task our offense was cooking. Would've been fun to see what Dak put up.

Prescott could put himself back in the MVP conversation by simply cutting his interception tally from 2022 in half, and that's entirely possible when considering it was an aberration to begin with. Assuming he does, the addition of Brandin Cooks (and boy did that combo look good in minicamp) and Deuce Vaughn instantly make the offense more dangerous, along with a tight end room populated by three playmakers. Toss in CeeDee Lamb's dominance and if Michael Gallup is back to form, and we might all quickly be reminded that Prescott was in the MVP conversation only two short years ago.
Pretty optimistic answer but actually I can see this happening.

This fan is pulling for a 4800 yard passing season from Dak...being serious here. The injury trull just better stay away...I'll get the Wildhorse Desert Curandera after him!!
