I think the real factor is Hurts.
We KNOW what Dak is. A solid, above average QB. He's 30 yrs old now.
I'd argue nobody really knows what Hurts is. He's still incredibly young and evolving.
2 seasons ago he was a great runner...but a bad passer feom the pocket. Probably bottom 3 in the league in the pocket. He was abysmal at times in the pocket. They tried to get new QBs b4 last season (Watson, Russel Wilson)....but couldn't.
Then last season, unexpectedly, out of nowhere...Hurts went from bottom 3 pocket passer+ dynamic runner, to solidly above average pocket passer+still dynamic runner (i.e. MVP runner up).
That was a metamorphic rise between Year 1 to Year2.
The big question is what happens feom Year 2 to Year3. Does he drop back down, a one year wonder? Does he cone back the exact same, and has reached his plateue? Or does he take ANOTHER big leap from year 2 to year 3, as many QBs do who are on the path to greatness?
Any of those 3 possibilities exist...and nobody in here, or in the Eagles headquarters, will really know which one will happen until the games start.
If he gets worse....we'll win the NFC E. If he is the same....it will be a dogfight. If he takes another leap forward this offseason similar to the leap he took the previous offseason, they will have a QB on par with Mahomes and will own the division for a decade.
We will know in a few months!
