I keep seeing arguments for a rb carrying the ball an average of 20 times per game. That seems incredibly rare.

Quick glance but seems like 2 players did that last year, Henry and Jacobs, none in 21, 2 in 20 (Henry, Cook).

Zeke did it a few times to start his career, a few in shortened seasons for him, and rookie season was really comparable to those others. But the argument i here there is when ran him into the ground, so it’s confusing. Wouldn’t it be better to have a more healthy Zeke still on the team for the fans of his? Day of here and pollard were 50/50 the past 3 years or fully pollard when zeke was hurt ?

He got paid otherwise I’d say they did him turbo dirty, i mean pounding him with a messed up MCL just seemed unethical.

Yes, but your dislike for Pollard is evident. And your holding onto the old love of a carry the load, 30 carry a game RB of the past.
I never said that I dislike Pollard. I'm not talking about the past. I'm talking about not. Lol!

You obviously have a sore spot for Pollard. I dont blame you considering how much he embarrassed your hero Zeke.

You seem to put less stock in a back taking 15 carries to do what another back would take 25 carries to do.

That isn't a discussion, you are making up what he says...That is called writing fiction.

I see the Zeke crowd trying to put the whammy on Pollard based on their own personal dislike and hatred for running him out of town. Get over it. He's gone. Back the new kid in town...yeah, he's not gonna "carry the load"....who in the NFL does nowadays? It's a RBBC league now because of the passing game being more valued. Different styles needed. He will be fine....the question is will MM figure it out quickly how to maximize his potential. He is a game breaker running or receiving. Need to utilize him as such. Same for Deuce. MM can't say he doesn't have weapons on offense.

He doesnt like Pollard because supposedly he cant handle 25 carries a game.

But if he can get 143 yards and 3 TD's in 15 carries then what does it matter?

Hes just missing his hero Zeke.

Jazzy, Rancher and the other Zeke cronies take shots at Pollard every chance they get. Then try to pretend they are rooting for the kid.

They had every opportunity to add a quality rookie RB from the draft to share the load ...........for some strange reason, they chose not to.
Ignored players available in the 2nd round to choose TE Schoonmaker; chose to pass on a selection in the 3rd to pick up LB Overshown;
neglected to pick one of the prospects left in the 4th to take DE Fehoko.

Guess Dowdle and Davis convinced the coaching staff and FO that their efforts outside their limited play in games warrants them to being in TC this summer.

The writers debate how can Tony have success as the lead RB.

As 1 comment he has only one game where he had more than 20 carries. He will need to show he can handle that if more is needed. However he really should be kept to under that. But will need to hit some home run type runs.

Also he will now do more of the dirty work a RB needs to do. Such as blocking in pass protection, with the A & B gaps. How can he do with the short yardage situations.
As he will need to power his way as times. Can't use the excuse the OL didn't block as well all the time.
RB#1 is the hybrid RB/WR now. If you've got one. And we do. Huge mistake to dump a ton of dirty work on Pollard. You don't hook up your thoroughbred to a plow.

Use Tony in the dynamic roles he excels at. Use him *more often* in those roles.

We don't have the bell cow, do everything back. And that role has largely passed away in the NFL besides. Use Tony a lot at what he's good at. Don't use him to fulfill a package of roles just because that's what you think a RB#1 is supposed to do.

I'm generally a fan of Nick, but his comment was just dumb. "Make long TD runs early." Yeah, if you could just punch in those plays on your gamepad, life would be a dream.

Kyle is the only one who seems to get it, but his prescription of limiting *carries* is way too simplistic a prescription. Limit the wear and tear on Pollard, not the carries or touches. Not every touch carries the same wear and tear.
