He was so unbelievably bad back then.
I can't believe he developed into what he is.
This is as good as you're going to get absent of an NFL Films employee lurking the board
Thank you!!
Thought it appropriate as we watch these preseason games. I remember watching back then just knowing he had something special going on.

His mechanics have improved so much since then. He's a completely different thrower now.
I'm calling bs on that.
It's a miracle he didn't get cut.

As I recall, one of the main reasons Tony Romo went undrafted was because of a semi-sidearm delivery that would not work in the NFL because of his size.
The Dallas Cowboys didn't even want to mess with Romo's throwing motion as a rookie.
The undrafted rookie Romo and QB coach David Lee had the problem fixed before training camp started that year.
Another interesting note I heard on Talkin' Cowboys once camp started this year was the veteran LBs in 2003, Dexter Coakley and Dat Nguyen, hated practicing against Romo.
The veteran QBs, Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson, constantly stared down their receivers in practice.
The undrafted rookie Romo would stare at a receiver and then suddenly turn and throw in the opposite direction.
He was already looking off defenders and they hated it.

Heh... a lot of people opened up their mouths with an opinion in that thread, who knew that Brett Favre himself would go on to say that Tony was the QB most like him?
