In 2004, sure. But I can pull up all sorts of threads from 2005 onwards with people wanting him to start.
Not even 2005, really. By the end of the 2005 preseason he was still considered by 99.9% of fans as a long shot that didn't have a chance. By the end of the 2006 offseason, however, there was very much a grassroots feeling that this guy really has something.

Nice find.

LOL at the know-it-alls who were so quick to dismiss the OP's Favre/Romo comparison as being completely absurd.

What a difference 10 years makes. 2006-2008, he was pretty much identical to Favre. I wouldn't say he looks much like Favre anymore.

I guess this is why I'm such a fan of Romo, he doesn't have an ego and wants to learn and get better (Even today). From him experimenting every offseason with this throwing and doing what the coaches ask of him; it's something Favre never really did. Favre was still a dang good QB, but he always stuck to his gunslinger ways.

Very true. The resemblance to Favre has faded over the years, although it was there at one point. Not many players have shown the ability to evolve like Romo has over the years. Most guys "are what they are".
