These stats combine 2005 and 2006 data...

2005-2006 stats w/Drew Bledsoe

Home
record 6-3
TD's = 14
INT's = 6

Road
record 5-6
TD's = 15
INT's = 17

Record against .500 team or better:
4-7

TD/INT Ratio against .500 team or better:
16/16

Late Game INT's with chance to tie or win:
2005 Oak
2005 Seattle (Pic in last minutes set up Josh Brown FG))
2005 Giants
2005 St. Louis (We lost 20-10, but last minute INT dashed hopes)
2006 Philly

* Of our 9 total loses 5 of them were ended with a Bledsoe INT

~ He is solid at home against teams .500 or less

~ He is pretty bad against teams that are .500 or better

~ He is pretty bad when trying to lead us to a 4th qtr victory...noting the 5 INT's

Good games against good teams to note are:
2005 SD (road)
2005 Philly (home)
2005 KC (home)...very good in this game
2006 Skins (home)

~ Out of 20 games he's played as a Cowboy he's been very impressive in 4...listed above.

~ Take what you want from this, but for me it puts numbers behind what we already know. He is good at home against .500 or less teams, and is average to horrible against teams .500 or above...

Here's the question...

Is that good enough for you?

Do you think Romo could be that much worse?

Seattle info is wrong. The game was tied when Bledsoe threw the pick and Seattle kicked a FG to win it.

IMO you're posting selective stats to support your argument. Fact is most QBs have worse records against good teams. We were a 9-7 team last season, just over .500. If we play teams that are better than us, it follows that the QB will struggle more.

So is the Oakland information, he didn't throw an INT to end the game, it was a pass to Glenn that didn't connect. The St.Louis information is irrelevant since the entire team basically had given up.

You are correct...I was actually there to witness that. I'll update.

He was tackled in FG range...and Josh hit it...

Thanks!

You're right about the St. Louis game, and I don't remember much about that game, but how did it end? If we lost 20-10, then how did a late turnover dash our hopes? I'm asking because I don't remember.

I'm not suprised that Bledsoe does well at home, against inferior competition, that should be a given for any QB worth his salt

I'm not referring to the last play of the game that ended the game necessarily, but the point we were in the last few minutes and he threw a pick thus dashing any hopes...

So lets see here... Last season Bledsoe was 4-4 on the road? 5-6 record so far, with 2 losses and 1 win this year... equals 4-4. Most NFL teams look to split their games on the road. We did that.

If you can say that Bledsoe plays better at home, then that's what you want also. You want to be 6-2 or so at home, which would give you a 10-6 record. So last season he went 5-3 at home, to make us 9-7. We have a pretty favorable home schedule this season. After the division opponents we have Indy, NO, TB, Houston and Detroit. I like our chances to have a good home record.

I'm cheating and using the play by play from NFL.com:

Dallas Cowboys at 02:411-10-DAL30(2:41) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass incomplete to K.Johnson (R.Bartell).
PENALTY on SL-R.Bartell, Defensive Holding, 5 yards, enforced at DAL 30 - No Play.1-10-DAL35(2:36) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass to J.Witten to DAL 39 for 4 yards (A.Archuleta). Heavy pressure by Little.2-6-DAL39(2:27) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass to T.Glenn pushed ob at DAL 49 for 10 yards (D.Groce).
PENALTY on DAL-T.Glenn, Offensive Pass Interference, 10 yards, enforced at DAL 39 - No Play.2-16-DAL29(2:21) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass intended for J.Witten INTERCEPTED by O.Atogwe at DAL 45. O.Atogwe to DAL 3 for 42 yards (T.Tucker).

And again at the 1:00 mark
1-10-DAL24(1:00) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass incomplete to M.Barber. Heavy pressure Little from left side.2-10-DAL24:)55) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass to K.Johnson ran ob at DAL 46 for 22 yards. Pass complete right sideline.1-10-DAL46:)49) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe pass to M.Barber ran ob at SL 45 for 9 yards. Pass complete middle before running out of bounds left sideline.2-1-STL45:)41) (Shotgun) D.Bledsoe sacked at SL 49 for -4 yards (L.Little).3-5-STL49:)21) D.Bledsoe pass intended for P.Crayton INTERCEPTED by C.Ivy at SL 35. C.Ivy pushed ob at DAL 46 for 19 yards (M.Barber).

Huh? We ended up at like their 5 yard line so if there was an INT before, it didn't dash our hopes as we got down to the red zone at the end of the game.

My expectations of this team this year are higher then 10-6 frankly. I understand those are pretty good by some teams standards, but with the talent I THINK we have...I'm expecting more.

With Bledsoe's history...I'm not sure we can do that. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear he is not capable of doing much with the level of talent I think we have.

JMHO

That's after we got the ball back...on the drive before he threw an INT when we were marching down the field. Bottom line...when we needed him to delivery he did not.

Bottom line, you are playing with numbers to prove a point. You claimed he threw an INT to end our chances, that was simply not the case.

OK...let me phrase it another way...

Had he continued the previous drive and NOT thrown an INT, and lead us to a score against a pathetic Raiders team...we would have won.

Hows that for ya...help any :bang2:
